Not my first option

I only attempted once on Affirm, and it did not work out exactly for me. It was fine in that sense because I was able to pay for my needs, but I looked elsewhere and got more favorable terms and options. It's usable for some, but I'm not going to be using it anytime soon.

Hidden fees and high interest rates

I was really not impressed with my experience in using Affirm. Initially, it would have been a good deal; however, later on, I found that several undisplayed fees were being charged to me without my knowledge at the time of purchase. Other than that, the interest rates were more than what I had imagined. Thus, I was paying much more than what I planned for buying that product, and it tasted bad leaving in my mouth. I will not use this service again nor recommend it to others unless I have done some research first. Such a financial service, not being transparent in regards to cost is quite a huge issue.

Great customer service

Questions about my account galore, but the customer service of Affirm replied extremely promptly and was very helpful. Of course, it is good to know that such a service exists in case one needs it. Extremely satisfied so far with the experience.

Great for larger purchases

Impressive flexibility

The flexibility that they provide is outstanding. I like to be able to select how long I have to pay back my purchase. That's more control over my decisions with money. Also, their terms seem pretty easy to comprehend, so I know what I'm committing to. Affirm certainly made my shopping experience much smoother, so I will definitely use it again.

Love it for impromptu shopping sprees

Well, Affirm has saved me literally lots of times when I was on shop-hopping. It allows me to buy what I want without having to settle the bill at once. The flexible plans really do make shopping a nice experience.

A little disappointment

I was a bit let down by my experience. I had been led to believe they were great, but it didn't cut the mustard for my expectations. It worked, but not super. Good service but lots of room here

Affirm is a fantastic financing service for larger purchases. I've used the service a number of times, and the process was pretty smooth. I still feel that it's a relatively slow response from their end when I send in support requests. However, the beauty of Affirm is that it enables me to buy over time and really does help me balance out my budget. I will continue to use Affirm because it fulfills my needs pretty well.

Limited merchant options

I did find, however, that Affirm only provides a handful of options for merchants. While it is very good for certain purchases, it is such a shame that it is only accepted at a few stores. Therefore, it limits my use of it.

Not my first choice

Horrible customer service experience

I was frustrated trying to resolve an issue with my account. I made contact with customer service and I had to call back numerous times to get to the bottom of it, which was very discouraging because the first people I tried to converse with were not very helpful and seemed clueless about the problem I was dealing with. Eventually, I was able to get my concern resolved, but the whole process took much longer than I expected. I really do hope they find ways to improve their customer support in the future, because it would have made such a difference having that resolved quicker.

Problematic account management

It is problematic dealing with my account at Affirm. I would often have trouble logging in to my account and it was pretty cumbersome getting my history of payments. Whenever I tried to change my payment method, it would not be accepted properly, which caused a lot of stress. While I loved the idea behind the service, the technological complications mostly made this experience frustrating overall. Hopefully they work on these issues soon because, as of now, they really create a problem for the usability of their platform. A stable system would most likely bring a brighter customer experience to all.

A good funding source

I have used Affirm several times now and found it very reliable as a financing product. I like that I can see my payment options upfront, so I make informed decisions while shopping. Interest rates are competitive, and I appreciate the reminders about when payments are coming due. Especially good for planning significant purchases

Pretty good for online shopping.

The experience that the consumer has through buying goods online through Affirm has been awesome. It has the fantastic advantage of breaking up the cost into actually more manageable chunks, which actually makes more sizeable purchases less intimidating. Their platform is easy to work on, and being clear about interest rates is really nice. It lets me know what I'm signing up for something that, with credit options, typically does not happen.

Hidden fees and very high interest rates

I was totally unsatisfied with my experience using Affirm. At first, it seemed like a pretty good option, but later, I found to my surprise unknown taxes that were not disclosed while purchasing for me. And, of course, interest rates were much more than I could think of. In the end, I paid way too much for my purchase compared to my original plan, and this really made a sour taste in my mouth. I will not be using this service again and would recommend that others do their research before committing.

Customer Service Incompetence

I have an issue in my account and tried to reach the customer service of Affirm. Unfortunately, the people I was in contact with were of little help. I felt that they read from something and didn't see my problem. I was frustrated and, instead, had to solve it myself. For a financial service, I expect more than this for the support level. Based on my experience, I would not advise them. They should raise the quality of customer service to maximize satisfaction on the customer's end.

A surefire funding solution

I've used Affirm several times now, and it's kind of been a pretty good financing option. I also really like that when you check out you can actually see which payment options are available so you know you can make a slightly more intelligent buying choice on the spot. It's also pretty good interest-wise, and it keeps reminding me when payments are due. The only thing that kind of caused some aggravation was when sometimes there was a slight delay in processing, but overall I had a great experience and will continue using it.

Completely changed the way I shop

Unhelpful customer support

This time an error in my account arose, and I tried to make a call to Affirm customer service to get the issue solved. The representatives with whom I got an opportunity to talk were not really useful. They were only reading off from their script. They could not understand the core of my problem. I had to get frustrated and solve the problem by myself. For a financial service, I do not think I will get proper support. I wouldn't recommend them for what they have done to me.

Account management issues

Affirm has been a pain to manage my account. Many times I was unable to log in to my account, and I was not able to see my payment history. Additionally, whenever I tried changing my method of payment, it failed processing and was very infuriating at times. Even though I love the idea of this service, technical defects in the operation have made it even a pain in total. Hope they sort out these issues soon.

Very useful for budgeting

Easy finance option

Overly complicated payment system

The concept of installments with Affirm was far-fetched from reality. The real deal was much less straightforward compared to the idea. Several forms of payment made it seem like I would never know when a particular payment was due. I was charged for being late to one of the payments. The payment process should be made easier and simpler by this excellent company for those customers. Clearer guidelines on payments, so one knows what time to expect certain payments due, would make a huge difference to the customer.

The frustrating aspect of a customer service

I tried to call the company to solve my issue about my account, but I got frustrated, and I could not get an answer right. It took so many calls to finally get the right answer. The first few reps were not helpful because they seem to have very little knowledge or any knowledge on what my issue is. It was demoralizing spending so many hours trying to seek help. It finally took some time and calls to resolve the problem, but it still took much more time than I had expected and really wish they fix this soon regarding their customer service.

Works great for surprise expenses

I was using Affirm for unexpected costs. That was the great decision. The approval process was very rapid. I could finance the purchase fast. The flexible options help there always be relief upon arising unexpected expenses.

Useful not reliable

Impressive flexibility

The flexibility of Affirm is amazing. I love the fact that I get to choose how long I want the payments to take, meaning I gain that much more control over my decision-making processes regarding my financial levels. The clarity within the terms is also clear and not ambiguous at all, which helps make it easier to understand exactly what I am committing to. Affirm has really made the purchase even better, and sure, I will do it again.

Excellent in online shopping

It has been excellent using Affirm for my online purchases. I love how it breaks payments, so even for huge purchases, it does not seem so daunting anymore. Their interface is very user-friendly, and the fact that interest rates are transparent is a refreshing breeze. You know exactly what you are signing on for, and that's often not the case with credit options. I will highly recommend it to anybody seeking to make online shopping affordable.

Lacks reminders on payments

Because the system doesn't remind you, I forgot to pay. Their reminding scheme really stinks, and there's still a lot of room for improvement in reminding users who forgot to pay.

Excellent customer service

Helps with planning budget at the same time

Affirm has really controlled my budget. Now I can buy whatever I want without the financial impact right then and there, so it's like enjoying what you want now and paying for it afterward. Their app intuitive, which makes keeping track of when payments are due pretty easy to do. One thing now that I have seen is just minor technical issues with the app itself, but they're usually fixed in seconds. So if you are looking to break up payments, I would say use it.
