Not Worth the Price
I had high hopes from reviews, so my experience with Vital Choice was underwhelming. It's sold as premium seafood, and frankly, the quality does not live up to the price it asks. Scallops ordered were chewy and less sweet than what I expected; packaging arrived damaged, also. Some items in the box had partial thaw. Customer service was very kind, yet didn't provide a satisfying resolution. It's pretty annoying when you pay a premium for subpar products. I do appreciate the mission of sustainability, but that doesn't compensate for the inconsistency in the product. I wanted a seafood go-to, but don't think I will be ordering after this. There are other companies out there providing similar products for cheaper and not compromising on quality.

I was very excited to try Vital Choice, but my experience was extremely disappointing. My order arrived a day late, and all of the seafood was completely thawed. I immediately contacted customer support, who was underwhelming. They said that I should refreeze the items-what a potential food safety concern. When I pressed for a refund, they were hesitant and unhelpful. The food was mediocre-the salmon was dry, and the shrimp had no flavor. For the price, I at least expected much better service and quality. Unfortunately, my first time will also be my last. It's really a bummer when a company that has such high ratings fails to meet the expectations set forth. I hope others have better luck than I did, but I wouldn't recommend taking the risk.

Their salmon was passable, but their shrimp were bland and not sweet as one would expect. The portions were smaller than expected, too, and the premium pricing wasn't justified. Another issue was the packaging; one of our frozen items arrived partially thawed, raising alarms about food safety. Customer support was nice, yet didn't give a satisfactory solution, suggesting that I refreeze the item that had thawed-a less-than-ideal situation for seafood. They have a great focus on sustainability, but it doesn't make up for such underwhelming quality. For the price, I expected a seamless, high-quality experience, and that is what didn't occur with Vital Choice. There are other companies that have comparable options at more economical prices. I wanted this to be my go-to seafood provider, but unfortunately, I?ll have to keep looking elsewhere for better value and consistency.

Disappointing Customer Support
While the seafood itself was okay, my experience with Vital Choice was soured by poor customer support. My order arrived a day late, and the packaging wasn?t sufficient to keep everything frozen. They eventually responded to my query, but very late, and the solution wasn't quite explicit. They gave a minimal discount for a future purchase, which didn't help with the problem at that moment. The halibut I cooked was dry with no flavor, and the scallops were smaller than what I had anticipated. Given the price, I'd expect much more from both the quality of the product and the service. I wanted to love Vital Choice, especially with their focus on sustainability; however, the lack of attention to customer concerns has left me frustrated. I may give them another chance, but it's hard to justify the high cost when the overall experience doesn't meet the promised standards.

Not Worth the Hassle
I've had a disappointing experience with Vital Choice, and it's unlikely I'll be ordering again. It is supposed to arrive in two days, and some items had totally defrosted. The customer service suggested that I should refreeze the products, which sounded inadequate due to food risk concerns. Upon cooking, the salmon did not taste great and had an odd texture; the shrimp were rubbery and tasteless. Given the premium prices, I would expect to receive restaurant-quality seafood, but it fell so far short. The frustrating part was it took a while before customer service could offer a full refund or replacement. I do like their commitment to being green, but that in no way makes up for the lack of consistency and accountability. Based on reviews, I had pretty high hopes for Vital Choice; so far, my experience has been nothing but hassle. There are better options out there for fresh, high-quality seafood without the risk of poor service.
