Frustrating experience with PenFed's mortgage service. Their rates are attractive, but the process is extremely slow. I lost documents a few times due to the apparent misplacement; their mortgage team was not able to communicate with me adequately, and this caused several delays in my closing-the stress and unnecessary delay not being very helpful. When I finally reached someone, they were unconvincing and obscure in the explanations. It is okay that they might get a large number of applications, but the level of mess was unaccepted. It would help them if they improve their communication method and also make it neat and efficient. Unfortunately, I won't suggest the mortgage service of this institution to any one who requires speed and good communication. Loans could be okay, but my experience was rather disappointing overall.
