Support Basically Useless
Tried contacting customer support about a corrupted client file. Took two full days to hear anything back, and when I did, the rep couldn?t help and blamed my internet. The issue clearly wasn?t on my end. I ended up having to redo the entire return from scratch. That cost me hours of work and frustration. Won?t be using this again after this tax season, it?s just not worth it.

E-filing Problems and Delays
Was excited to try something new, but I kept getting e-file errors that weren?t clearly explained. Sometimes returns showed as accepted but didn?t update in the client dashboard. Couldn?t Keep Up with My Workload
Started off okay, but the more clients I added, the more things began to slow down. It doesn?t scale well and didn?t handle bulk filing very good. Also ran into frequent lag while jumping between state and federal forms. Lost a lot of time just waiting for the software to catch up. The user interface is ancient. Fonts are small, menus are buried, and it looks like it hasn?t been updated in a decade. It?s not intuitive at all. No Help When You Need It

So Many Errors, Too Frustrating
The program gave constant errors during returns, and support was rarely helpful. I lost hours fixing things that shouldn?t have been broken in the first place. The software would just freeze and shut down mid-process. It made tax season really stressful. Honestly, I regret switching from my old provider. Lost All My Client Data
I was horrified to find that after a software update, my client data was gone. I contacted support immediately, but they said nothing could be done. No backups, no recovery, just gone. That?s unacceptable for tax software. I trusted this system with sensitive financial data and it failed completely. I?ll never recommend it to anyone. This really damaged my business credibility with clients.

Totally Disappointed
I had high hopes but UltimateTax didn?t deliver. Software crashed constantly, forms wouldn?t update, and e-file was a mess. The interface looks outdated, and you have to click around way too much just to finish simple tasks. Tech support didn?t fix anything and made excuses most of the time. I needed a professional tool, not a headache. Waste of money for what you actually get.

Decent Overall, But Learning Curve
Once support walked me through setup conversion was ok. Yet the learning curve was steep when entering less common credits or multi?state entries. Took me weeks to get comfortable. After that it worked alright.

Stable But Manual Entry Required
The software works and files returns correctly, but many inputs must be repeated across forms manually. No auto?carry in places where it?d be helpful like addresses or deduction data. Gets time consuming once you hit advanced schedules.

Accuracy is Good, Navigation Lags
Accuracy is solid and e?filing works fine for basic federal and state returns. The UI though is cluttered and jumping between screens interrupts flow. Takes extra time compared to sleeker alternatives.

Great Support but Slightly Old UI
Their customer service is superb?always friendly and fast to fix my issues. Data convert from my old software was clean. But the interface is a bit clunky, especially for depreciation schedules or K?1 entries. It runs steady and files returns accurately, though I wish navigation was more streamlined.

Good Value, Needs Interface Tweaks
UltimateTax is excellent for smaller preparers like me?budget friendly, accurate, excellent support. Data conversion was seamless. Still, entry screens for certain forms were confusing and didn?t auto?carry like other platforms. Takes a bit of practice. Functionality is strong, but user experience needs slight revamp.

Solid Choice for Solo Preparers
I only file maybe 20 returns a year, and UltimateTax?s PPR plan fits my budget. Support is friendly and explains things clearly. The form library is broad and compliance is always up to date. Still, some screens felt cluttered or required odd manual steps. I?d love more intuitive auto?carry features, but overall works well.

Looks Outdated and Works That Way Too
The interface looks like it's from early 2000s and sadly acts like it too. Simple things like zooming or resizing windows don?t work right. Also had trouble printing returns?PDFs wouldn?t generate or were missing parts. I did like the pricing at first, but the usability made it hard to stick with. I wouldn?t recommend it unless you don?t mind using something that feels really outdated.

Unstable Software
It kept crashing when I tried to save client profiles with multiple states. Once it even deleted a full return I was working on. Called support, they apologized, but said I had to re-enter everything. Not what I expect from paid tax software. There?s potential here, but honestly it felt too risky to keep using during busy season. Not reliable enough for my practice at all.
