Too Many Fake Positive Reviews

I have been using TripAdvisor for several years now, but of late, I have been finding way too many fake positive reviews. It seems like all types of businesses are writing glowing, over-the-top reviews about their services, and one wonders which one is real. I once used TripAdvisor to book a hotel last month based on great reviews, and it was disappointing. The reviews clearly were not a representation of what I actually encountered with the experience. I now do take the time to always check other review sites before making my decisions.

Poorly Managed Listings

Recently, I have tried using it to plan a trip that involves going to some very remote locations. What really surprised me was how unregulated the listings on the site were. Many places listed as operating businesses had been closed for many years. I have wasted lots of time going to places that don't exist anymore or cease to operate. Listings should be updated at more regular periods to avoid these kinds of inconveniences.

Inconsistent Reviews

I feel like TripAdvisor reviews are becoming increasingly inconsistent. Some places will get rave reviews one week, and then the next week, they are complaining about the same issues. This inconsistency makes it very hard to properly judge a place or service. I have had good and bad experiences based on TripAdvisor's recommendations; therefore, I try using other resources now to verify this information.

Unsatisfactory Help

I have a problem with a reservation of my hotel, and so I decided to get in contact with TripAdvisor's help desk. Unfortunately, they were of no good and did absolutely nothing in order to resolve the problem. The phone call was done personally to the hotel that solved this problem, which was really frustrating because it took so much precious time. Less than impressed with the TripAdvisor service, I will avoid this website for all further reservations.

Touring-Disappointing Experience

I had made a day tour booking through TripAdvisor, which was thoroughly disappointing. The guide was disorganized, and the stops did not align with the ones published. Additionally, some of the stops seemed irrelevant, like a waste of time. I was expecting a fun and enlightening experience but found myself instead understanding that it was hurriedly put together without much thought. I shall be more careful in future tour bookings through TripAdvisor.

Very Reliable for Hotel Reviews

I have used TripAdvisor for a couple of years to book my hotels; all of the experiences have always been great. The reviews are comprehensive, and what I really like most of all are the photos published by other travelers. Sometimes some of the pages take a bit to load, but that is a quibble. Disappointing and Inaccurate Reviews

I have used TripAdvisor for many years, but during the last period of time, it has come to my attention that the quality of reviews went down. It is annoying to see reviews that are outdated or just not relevant to current experiences. Some hotels and restaurants I have visited had very poor reviews that were at all not related to my experience. I have also felt at times that some reviews are overly positive; it's hard to gauge what feedback is actual. I will, however, remain with TripAdvisor because of its vast database, but I have started reviewing other sites when I seek more reliable information.

Terrible Experience with Customer Support

I had a problem with a booking via TripAdvisor, and honestly, this company's customer support was horrible. But quite a few attempts to seek help with the refund following an incorrect charge proved not helpful, as every minute taken was slow and responses never came forth. They kept referring me to third-party services, which, of course, were equally unresponsive. It got to the point where I had to resolve the problem on my own. This experience has soured my opinion of TripAdvisor completely, and I will be very careful before using them for bookings in the future. Customer service is key, and TripAdvisor utterly failed here.

Great Content, But Needs Better Moderation

Though TripAdvisor indeed offers a lot of valuable content, I have found that it is not always well-moderated. Many of the reviews I have read seem phony or misleading. I have been reading quite a few that obviously have been written by staff at various hotels or restaurants to artificially increase their ratings and others for which the reviewer had unduly negative things to say without real explanation. Often, it is hard to sift through and tell what is someone's opinion and what is a paid review. Not that I don't use TripAdvisor anymore for some research, but I always cross-check with other review sites to ensure I get valid feedback.

Too Many Irrelevant Reviews

I feel that TripAdvisor is just loaded with reviews that do not pertain to exactly what I am looking for. I booked a hotel via their site with rave reviews and, upon arrival, found it nothing like it was described. The photos were really out of date, and the customer service was poor. It is my feeling that there are plenty of positive reviews which are not corresponding to the real state of affairs. Of course, TripAdvisor used to be a very decent place for travel reviews, but now I feel suspicious about the validity of many messages. It is a pity, since I really relied on this resource while organizing my trips.

Misleading Reviews and Unreliable Information

I have recently had an annoying experience with TripAdvisor. I reserved, with great recommendation, one very well-reviewed restaurant based on its reviews and found that it didn't live up to the praise enshrined in the reviews on this site. Food was mediocre, service slow. Even worse, some of the reviews seemed completely disconnected from reality. It's beyond doubt that TripAdvisor does not monitor the reviews well enough, which really makes the platform unreliable. I have lost faith in the reviews and will most likely seek other means next time I'm planning a trip.

Inconsistent Quality of Reviews

I think TripAdvisor is a fantastic idea, but sometimes the actual reviews themselves differ in quality to a great extent. I have read many informative and considerate reviews, but at the same time, I've come across a good load of shallow and worthless ones. There is no cohesion in the information-it is more and more the case that people just post reviews without actually thinking about their experiences. Besides, diverse opinions on the same place sometimes clash, which makes it hard to point out what is actually going on. I still use TripAdvisor, but now I know to take the reviews with a pinch of salt.

Too Many Fake Reviews

Recently, I have found TripAdvisor to be overrun with fake reviews-so much so that I don't really use the site for travel planning anymore. So many places have suspiciously glowing reviews for places that clearly don't deserve them. I suspect that some of these businesses pay for positive reviews to improve their ratings. All this has served to make it difficult for me to trust the platform as a reliable source of information. I still use it, but always cross-reference other website reviews before making any decisions in light of those reviews.

Lacking Transparency in Reviews

I have used TripAdvisor for years and slowly but surely get peeved by the fact that the reviews are anything but transparent. Very often, one cannot tell whether a review is actually genuine or if it is a paid review. This, secondly, is done very often when only particular reviews are left by people who seemed to have reviewed only one place, and that raises questions regarding their authenticity. While I still use TripAdvisor to research hotels and restaurants, I am more circumspect about relying exclusively on their ratings.

Horrible Experience with Booking

Recently, I made a tour booking through TripAdvisor and happened to be one of the worst I ever had. The process of booking was vague, and no clear communication about the tour details was given. At the location, it was canceled without prior notice. I tried to get in contact with TripAdvisor for a refund, but they were unresponsive and utterly unhelpful. Irritating User Experience on the Application

Using the TripAdvisor app is quite frustrating. It freezes or just crashes all the time, which can make using it on the go pretty difficult. The layout is pretty cluttered, and I often find myself getting lost trying to find what I need. While the reviews themselves might be helpful, the poor functionality made my experience far less enjoyable than one might hope. This was highly expected to be used more in travels, but I will have to make a switch until they figure out the performance of this app.

I had an awful experience when I had to need help regarding a booking. TripAdvisor did not have any customer service. I tried calling, emailing, and using their online chat; I never got a response. Was kept in the dark on an easily resolved problem and, after several weeks, had to cancel the booking myself. Lack of support-so frustrating; will avoid TripAdvisor from now on.

Many of the reviews are biased or overly glowing; many others are too negative with very little context. I respect diversity in the experiences of users, but more effective moderation by TripAdvisor can help improve the reliability of the reviews. Secondly, sometimes the website is a bit slow to load.

Great for Research, But Watch Out for Bias

While I do a lot of research via TripAdvisor, the reviews are usually biased. Some places get super-positive reviews that somehow seem unrepresentative of the experience at all, while other places get very, very critical reviews for problems that must have been singular occurrences. The result is that it's challenging to get an accurate view of what a place is truly like. High Booking Charges

While TripAdvisor does have decent reviews and travel info, I find that their booking fees are a bit higher than reasonable. I just recently booked a hotel on their website, and the fees were much high compared to direct reservations. And that's also an irritant because using TripAdvisor, the idea goes, is some kind of savings bucks that include added charges and take away common sense for a better deal. I may want to try using their reservation service sometime in the near future.

Horrible Tour Booking Experience

I have had the worst experience with booking a tour on TripAdvisor. The tour I had signed up for got canceled at the last minute, and my experience with customer support was horrible. Smothered in Ads

The truth is that lately TripAdvisor seems to have a lot more ads, and frankly speaking, this is getting on my nerves. I made a hotel reservation through TripAdvisor, and upon arrival, they claimed not to have any record of my reservation. Terrible Service

Annoying Search Feature

I had an awful experience trying to book a vacation through TripAdvisor. The reviews for the hotel that I booked were completely misleading, including several obviously employee-written glowing reviews. Contrasting Reviews

I find TripAdvisor very helpful, but too often I find so many contrasting reviews. Sometimes different locations get reviews all over the place, where people either have loved it or truly hated it. In those cases, it's hard to make a decision. Bad booking experience

I had pre-booked an activity through TripAdvisor, and the tour company suddenly cancelled it without warning. TripAdvisor didn't get this issue resolved but instead referred me to the tour company, which did not get back. The TripAdvisor site is helpful, but I have always been frustrated with the overwhelming number of ads and pop-ups when one browses around. Trying to read the reviews or look at some of the hotel listings, it can be a pain with so much disturbance around. Information is Outdated

TripAdvisor used to be my go-to for travel research, but I notice a lot of the information in it is outdated. Just recently visited a restaurant that has been closed for months but showed open on this site. It's really frustrating, you know, because you do count on this site for good, updated information and are let down.

Good, But Room for Improvement

I regularly use TripAdvisor, but it really does need a revamp. The site is just so cluttered at times; it's just a bit of an effort when trying to find what I need. Also, most of the reviews are inconsistent. I have noticed places that were rated very well but didn't turn out to be as great as all that. I do really think TripAdvisor needs to monitor its reviews way more.

Deceiving Restaurant Reviews

I booked a restaurant through TripAdvisor?it had great reviews. It was less than satisfactory. The food was ordinary; service was slow. Sometimes, I think that too many of the reviews on this site are over-the-top positive and don't accurately portray reality. Will be more discerning with the ratings next time.

TripAdvisor tends to be an excellent travel resource, but I have come upon reviews that are sometimes hard to be taken seriously. A few times I have booked places based on the reviews, only to be misled by them. Some of the reviews don't seem neutral; they show up with much enthusiasm. Amazing Travel Resource

I really just can't imagine taking a trip without TripAdvisor anymore. It's such a comprehensive resource for anything related to travel. Awesome Tool to Explore New Locations

Extremely Helpful for Planning

Great for Finding Hidden Gems

Some of my best travel experiences have been thanks to TripAdvisor. You find those hidden gems in reviews that you may not find otherwise. For example, I found this little family-run restaurant in Paris, serving some of the best food ever. Something I would have never been able to find by other means. I just love reading through the local tips and advice from other travelers; it's like insider-type stuff.

Excellent for Group Travel

Planning group trips requires taking into consideration the opinions of all those involved, and TripAdvisor makes that even much easier. I could filter for many group-friendly accommodations and activities on the site, and the reviews many times proved insightful for groups of a greater size. I used TripAdvisor to plan a trip with friends, and we ended up having an amazing time because we could trust the recommendations. I would definitely continue using it for any group vacations.

A First Timer's Must

Being that I'd never been to Europe before, man, I really had to lean on TripAdvisor to help me figure a lot of it out. The reviews were incredibly thorough and recommendations just perfect. I found great places to stay and stuff to do, and after reading other travelers' experiences, I was so much more confident in my choices. Made my trip a whole load easier and much more enjoyable. Easy to Use and Very Informative

I find TripAdvisor very user-friendly, and the amount of information available is simply fantastic. I like the variety of reviews for hotels, restaurants, things to do, and trips. And sorting and filtering reviews makes it even simpler to find what I'm looking for. This last trip to New York City, I found some excellent restaurants, fun things to do, and moderately-priced accommodations-all thanks to TripAdvisor's recommendations.

Booking Process-left a lot to be desired

I have been using TripAdvisor for many years to book hotels and activities, but my experience in the past has been less than satisfactory. I made a booking on this site, and when arriving they said they didn't have my reservation. They were arguing with me that it was a third-party booking error after I showed them my confirmation email. I contacted TripAdvisor, who provided minimal support in trying to get resolution. Customer service never responded to me, and honestly, it frustrated me. At this point, I will think twice about using TripAdvisor again as it is much better to book directly with the provider.

I have religiously used TripAdvisor for years now, but lately, I tend to find some sort of underbelly regarding restaurants and hotels. It's just so annoying, really, because you can't quite tell which reviews are real or those extremely obvious ones written by employees or paid reviewers. On my last trip, I stayed in a hotel based on glowing reviews; in reality, the place was all below par. I am a lot more sceptical now about trusting the reviews on the site and will, in the future, verify from multiple sources before making decisions.

I have generally had one horrible experience with the TripAdvisor booking mechanism. I booked an excursion on their website, and to my dismay, the tour company cancelled it at the last minute without giving me a refund or an alternative. I tried sorting it out with TripAdvisor, and it took them days to get back to me. Once they finally did, they said they couldn't refund me and that it was out of their hands. I'm thoroughly disappointed in TripAdvisor's customer service, and I will never be making use of the site for any booking again.

Bad Customer Service

I have had the most infuriating time with TripAdvisor's customer service. I booked a hotel on their website and then arrived to find the hotel overbooked and with no room for me. I immediately contacted TripAdvisor-never heard back, almost a week later. They were uninterested in trying to help me. I was forced to look for some other place, and that inconvenienced me a lot. Needless to say, this reduced my willingness to book again with TripAdvisor.

I booked a tour through TripAdvisor, and it was an absolute nightmare. The company canceled last minute and didn't warn me or offer me any alternatives. Called TripAdvisor, and boy, were they less than no help. All they could say was that it was an issue for the tour company to resolve and I seemed not to reach them. Quite literally after hours of frustration, I was able to call my credit card company and file a complaint. I will not be booking anything through TripAdvisor anymore.

It becomes hard to find organic, non-biased reviews since there are lots of paid advertisements pushing certain hotels or activities to the top. I feel this website is too commercialized now and is losing its credibility. I still make use of the service, but now, I do make sure to look more into the reviews before making any decisions.

I have had a few bad experiences in the past with TripAdvisor, but the latest was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. I booked this hotel due to rave reviews; upon arrival, it was quite contrary to anything described. Subsequently, I found out that some of these positive reviews could have been from the very same hotel in their attempt to increase their ranking. Unhelpful customer service and a feeling of being misled were my experience. I cannot rely on TripAdvisor for any bookings or recommendations anymore.

First, the people in customer service aren't responsive; they just transferred me from one department to another. When I finally did get an answer, it was too vague and not helpful at all. Poorly Managed Listings

Recently, I have tried using it to plan a trip that involves going to some very remote locations. What really surprised me was how unregulated the listings on the site were. Unsatisfactory Help

I have a problem with a reservation of my hotel, and so I decided to get in contact with TripAdvisor's help desk. Unfortunately, they were of no good and did absolutely nothing in order to resolve the problem. The phone call was done personally to the hotel that solved this problem, which was really frustrating because it took so much precious time. Less than impressed with the TripAdvisor service, I will avoid this website for all further reservations.

Touring-Disappointing Experience

I had made a day tour booking through TripAdvisor, which was thoroughly disappointing. The guide was disorganized, and the stops did not align with the ones published. Additionally, some of the stops seemed irrelevant, like a waste of time. I was expecting a fun and enlightening experience but found myself instead understanding that it was hurriedly put together without much thought.
