It took three attempts to cancel and I finally received word. A subscription is supposed to be a hassle-free means of experiencing new teas, not a monthly annoyance. It's disappointing that the system wasn't more streamlined considering how long the company's been in business. The teas themselves were uninspired and failed to reflect the individuality one would expect from a curated experience. With so many other tea clubs and brands providing more reliable service, this just didn't cut it. Would love to see the subscription redesigned with some TLC, but for now, I'm out.

As a daily tea drinker, it's essential that the experience offers more than mere convenience. Held onto the product because it seemed like too much effort to return it. From a business that self-describes as passionate and committed to the community, the silence was surprising. Felt totally dismissed and insignificant as a customer. If a person is shelling out cash for specialty tea, they should receive attention and assistance when issues arise. A more responsive, more caring staff could quickly turn these experiences around. Until then, it?s difficult to recommend the service to others, no matter how interesting the product selection might be. Support is just as important as what?s in the cup.

    Packaging Needs Improvement

    Although the tea variety seemed promising, the packaging was lacking. Some of the zip-seal bags would not seal well once opened, which made storage in the inconvenient and affected freshness in the long run. For loose leaf tea, good resealability is critical. Even attempted to transfer them into my own containers, but the scent and taste had already perceptibly weakened by then. Left this in a message to customer service but never got a response. Lack of interest in retaining quality reveals a gap between messaging by the brand and the real customer concern. With a product that relies so much on freshness and safe storage, it makes a difference. The tea itself was not terrible, but if the package cannot hold it, then much of the product's value is lost. Enhancements to the materials or quality inspections on packaging would have a huge impact on the overall customer experience going forward.

    Opening up the bags, the scent was decidedly subdued to what I otherwise receive from alternative vendors.     The outside box came soggy and partially open, and this immediately set the tone of the order. The inside items were impacted?some teas were damp and inedible.     Received order more than a week late, and even then, a tea was missing. Contacted customer service immediately, but the reply was slow and didn't result in anything concrete. In the meantime, the teas that did come were just mediocre?some had artificial tastes and didn't taste fresh.     Damaged Items and No Response

    The teapot I received had a clear crack, and a tea bag had burst within the box. Took photos and sent them straight away, but nothing was acknowledged or followed up after days of waiting. Tried contacting again and still nothing. It's not acceptable for a business to stay quiet when their item ships in broken condition. The absence of accountability here was infuriating. It's worse that the teapot was supposed to be used as a gift, and there wasn't time to reorder because of the delay and lack of notification. What did ship was mediocre?not terrible, but by no means premium. A quality-oriented brand should make sure their package is safe and customer issues are replied to. Rather, I felt neglected and with damaged goods. A more effective response system would do wonders for building trust among customers.
