A Must-Visit for Sushi Lovers

Sushi Taro offers an unforgettable experience. Every course in the omakase menu told a story, from the delicate balance of flavors to the beautiful presentation. The chef?s skill and passion are evident in every piece. It?s easily one of the best sushi restaurants I?ve visited in years.

Memorable Omakase Dinner

I visited Sushi Taro with high expectations, and it didn?t disappoint. The chef?s attention to detail was impressive, and each course flowed beautifully into the next. The fish was fresh, the rice perfectly seasoned, and the pacing ideal. The ambiance was quiet and intimate, making it an excellent spot for special dinners. Worth every penny for true sushi lovers.

Exceptional Sushi Experience

Dining at Sushi Taro was a treat from start to finish. The Omakase menu showcased an incredible range of flavors, each dish prepared with precision. The service was attentive yet not intrusive. Every piece of sushi melted perfectly in the mouth. Definitely a place where passion for the craft shines through. I?d recommend it for anyone who appreciates authentic Japanese cuisine.

Too Formal and Rigid

The restaurant feels very strict and quiet, which made the experience uncomfortable. While the sushi was good, it lacked soul. The formality takes away from the enjoyment of eating. Not somewhere I?d feel relaxed enough to return to soon.

img 5/5.0 28, Aug 2025

Exquisite and Thoughtful

The progression of dishes was thoughtful and beautifully presented. Each piece of sushi was a small masterpiece. You can tell the chef pours years of experience into the menu. Absolutely worth the splurge for a special night out.

True Japanese Experience

Everything about Sushi Taro feels authentic, from the warm service to the traditional preparation methods. The Omakase was carefully curated, and every piece of sushi showcased deep skill. I?d happily come back again and again.

Great Sushi, Limited Menu Options

While I loved every bite, I wish there had been a bit more variety in the Omakase. That said, each dish was clearly prepared with care and artistry. A wonderful place for purists who value technique.

img 5/5.0 17, Jul 2025

Top Tier Sushi Experience

This was one of the most impressive meals I?ve had in years. The sushi rice alone deserves praise, perfectly seasoned and tender. Every bite of sashimi was fresh and flavorful. A flawless fine dining experience.

img 5/5.0 03, Jul 2025

Perfectly Executed Omakase

The meal flowed seamlessly from course to course. Highlights were the toro and uni, both incredibly rich and clean. The balance of traditional and modern touches made the dinner both authentic and exciting.

img 2/5.0 19, Jun 2025

Cold Service Overshadowed the Food

The sushi was fresh, but the overall experience lacked personality. The chefs barely interacted, and the servers seemed indifferent. For such a highly rated restaurant, I expected some sense of connection or explanation of dishes. The food alone can?t carry such high prices. It felt sterile, not special. Definitely not worth the hype.

img 3/5.0 05, Jun 2025

Good Sushi, Poor Atmosphere

The food was above average, but the environment didn?t match. The dining area felt cramped, and the lighting was uncomfortably dim. The staff seemed more focused on procedure than hospitality. I left thinking the quality was good, but the lack of warmth made it hard to truly enjoy. I expected a more inviting dining experience.

img 4/5.0 22, May 2025

Refined and Relaxing

The experience felt calm and immersive. The sushi was fresh, delicate, and flavorful. The only small downside was the limited sake list. Still, everything from service to presentation reflected quality and care.

A Cut Above the Rest

I?ve had sushi across major cities, and Sushi Taro ranks among the best. The flavor depth, ingredient sourcing, and quiet professionalism of the staff create an unforgettable atmosphere. A must for serious sushi lovers.

Chef?s Masterpiece

The chef?s creativity was evident in every bite. From the seasonal appetizers to the sushi finale, everything was balanced and precise. Watching the chef work right in front of us made it even more special. Absolutely top notch dining.

img 4/5.0 10, Apr 2025

Traditional and Refined

I appreciated the authenticity of the meal. The menu focused on quality over quantity, and every dish was fresh. The ambiance was calm and elegant. Slightly small portions, but that?s typical of high end Omakase.

img 5/5.0 27, Mar 2025

Simply Beautiful

Everything from the plating to the flavors felt purposeful. The sashimi was buttery, and the nigiri had perfect rice texture. It?s clear this place takes pride in every detail. I left feeling satisfied, not stuffed, just right.

img 5/5.0 13, Mar 2025

Impressive and Memorable

This was my first Omakase, and now I understand the hype. Each bite felt meaningful and thoughtful. The chef made us feel comfortable, explaining each course without rushing. An experience that set a new standard for sushi.

img 4/5.0 27, Feb 2025

Fresh and Flavorful

Every dish was bursting with freshness. The miso soup and sashimi were highlights for me. The servers were kind and knowledgeable. It did feel a bit formal, but that?s part of what makes the experience feel special.

img 3/5.0 13, Feb 2025

Good Fish, Poor Service

The sushi quality was great, but the service was lacking. Our server seemed distracted, and dishes were brought out without explanation. For a fine dining spot, that was disappointing. I?ve had better attention at smaller sushi bars.

img 2/5.0 30, Jan 2025

Average Experience Overall

The food was okay, but the atmosphere felt uninviting. The chef didn?t engage much, and the pacing was inconsistent. It?s more about presentation than actual flavor. I left feeling unimpressed given the hype around this place.

img 5/5.0 16, Jan 2025

The Best Sushi in the City

Sushi Taro has ruined other sushi spots for me, nothing else compares. The fish quality is remarkable, and the chef?s knife work is next level. The rice was warm, seasoned perfectly, and held everything together beautifully.

img 4/5.0 02, Jan 2025

Beautiful and Balanced

I loved the subtle flavors and textures throughout the Omakase. Each dish complemented the next beautifully. It?s an elegant, calm space where you can truly focus on the food. A bit pricey, but for the quality, it?s understandable.

img 3/5.0 19, Dec 2024

Too Expensive for What You Get

The sushi was decent but nowhere near worth the high cost. The portions were small, and the service felt a bit stiff. For the price, I expected something more memorable and engaging. Not bad, just not the premium experience it claims to be.

img 3/5.0 05, Dec 2024

Technically Impressive, Emotionally Flat

The craftsmanship was obvious, but the experience felt cold and formulaic. Each dish looked beautiful but lacked that wow factor. It felt like eating in silence without any connection to the chef or story behind the food. While it?s impressive technically, it just didn?t make me feel anything. Overpriced for what it delivers emotionally

img 5/5.0 21, Nov 2024

Exceptional Dining Experience

Every bite had a purpose. You can tell the chef?s training and passion shine through. The way the courses transition from light to rich flavors made the whole meal feel perfectly structured. Service was friendly and informative.

img 5/5.0 07, Nov 2024

A Unique DC Gem

I didn?t expect to find such authentic Japanese sushi in DC. The attention to detail was outstanding, from the temperature of the rice to the perfectly cut sashimi. A truly standout restaurant for anyone serious about sushi.

img 4/5.0 24, Oct 2024

Pricey but Worth It

The Omakase experience is expensive, but it?s one of those meals you remember for years. The presentation, flavors, and craftsmanship justify the cost. I especially appreciated how seasonal ingredients were incorporated into the menu.

img 2/5.0 10, Oct 2024

Beautiful but Boring

The dishes looked incredible, but most of them tasted the same. There wasn?t much excitement or creativity in the menu. It?s polished but predictable. I expected something more unique for an omakase-style meal.

img 3/5.0 27, Sep 2024

Service Could Be Better

The sushi itself was enjoyable, but the staff seemed cold and rushed. The timing between dishes was off, and the atmosphere lacked warmth. It?s not a bad restaurant, but for this price point, service should be flawless.

img 5/5.0 13, Sep 2024

A Calming and Refined Atmosphere

From the moment we sat down, everything felt peaceful. The chefs moved with precision, and the food spoke for itself. The freshness of the tuna and the balance in each roll was spot on. A must try for sushi enthusiasts.

img 5/5.0 30, Aug 2024

Best Omakase in DC

I?ve tried multiple sushi restaurants in DC, and Sushi Taro stands apart. The fish quality was exceptional, and the presentation was immaculate. The chef?s storytelling added a personal touch that made the meal feel one of a kind.

img 4/5.0 16, Aug 2024

Elegant and Authentic

Sushi Taro captures the spirit of traditional Japanese dining. The atmosphere was quiet and refined, allowing the food to shine. My only minor complaint was the pacing, slightly long between dishes. Otherwise, a fantastic and memorable evening.

img 4/5.0 06, Aug 2024

Clean Flavors, Great Service

The sushi was fresh and flavorful, and the presentation was exceptional. The staff was attentive without hovering, creating a pleasant dining rhythm. The atmosphere was quiet and refined. While it?s pricey, it truly feels like a special occasion restaurant. Would definitely recommend for sushi connoisseurs.

img 5/5.0 02, Aug 2024

Flawless From Start to Finish

Every element of the evening, from the warm welcome to the final dessert, felt deliberate and thoughtful. The Omakase flowed beautifully. Each course surprised me in some way. Easily the best sushi I?ve had in the US so far.

img 3/5.0 23, Jul 2024

Service Felt Disconnected

The food was okay, but the interaction felt cold. The staff moved through the motions without much care or attention. It?s a shame because the restaurant itself is lovely. The overall experience felt too mechanical.

img 5/5.0 19, Jul 2024

Perfection in Simplicity

Sushi Taro doesn?t overcomplicate things. The focus is on fresh ingredients and precise technique. The sushi rice had perfect balance, and the fish was clean and flavorful. It?s the kind of place that reminds you what true sushi should taste like.

img 5/5.0 09, Jul 2024

The Art of Simplicity

What I loved about Sushi Taro is how they turn simplicity into art. Every dish was elegant, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The rice texture was perfect, and the fish tasted incredibly fresh. The calm atmosphere elevated the meal even more. A must-visit for serious sushi fans.

img 4/5.0 05, Jul 2024

Great Food, Slow Service

The food was simply stunning, everything from the appetizers to the final nigiri was flawless. The service was polite but a little slow between courses. That said, I?d still return without hesitation for the quality of the sushi alone.

img 4/5.0 25, Jun 2024

Calm and Classy Experience

I enjoyed how peaceful and organized the dinner felt. The omakase menu was well-paced, and the sushi was fresh with subtle flavor variations. The presentation was stunning. The only minor downside was the limited drink selection, but everything else was excellent. A refined, satisfying experience.

img 5/5.0 21, Jun 2024

A True Culinary Journey

From start to finish, the Omakase menu felt like a carefully told story. Each dish built on the last, offering new textures and flavors. The uni and otoro were highlights. This is more than dinner, it?s a full experience.

img 2/5.0 11, Jun 2024

Bland and Forgettable

The sushi looked nice but lacked depth in flavor. There was nothing wrong with it, just nothing memorable either. For a restaurant with such high acclaim, I expected to be blown away, not just satisfied.

img 5/5.0 07, Jun 2024

Attention to Every Detail

You can tell this restaurant values craftsmanship. The rice temperature, seasoning, and timing were all on point. The staff anticipated our needs before we asked, which made the entire evening flow effortlessly. Definitely a standout in DC dining.

img 5/5.0 28, May 2024

Absolutely Delightful

Sushi Taro made a strong impression from the start. The menu felt well-balanced and creative without losing authenticity. Each dish had a clean, fresh taste that showcased the ingredients perfectly. The service was kind and attentive. It?s definitely a restaurant that values detail and customer experience.

img 4/5.0 24, May 2024

Great Sushi, Tight Space

The sushi was near perfect, and the sake pairing elevated every bite. My only issue was the tight spacing at the bar, a bit too close to other diners. Still, the flavor and freshness easily made up for the slight discomfort.

img 4/5.0 14, May 2024

High-Quality Sushi Experience

Sushi Taro delivers on quality and presentation. Each dish had precise seasoning and freshness. The chefs clearly know their craft, and the staff ensured a smooth experience throughout. The environment was peaceful, making it ideal for a quiet, refined meal. Excellent sushi overall.

img 5/5.0 10, May 2024

Worth Every Dollar

I hesitated because of the price, but once the meal started, it was clear why it costs what it does. The variety of fish, the knife precision, and the pacing of each course made it a top tier Omakase experience. Highly recommended.

img 5/5.0 30, Apr 2024

Every Bite Was Perfection

The omakase menu was an incredible experience. Each course was unique, fresh, and beautifully plated. The chef?s attention to balance and texture was amazing. The service was attentive without being overwhelming. I?d recommend this restaurant to anyone who truly loves Japanese cuisine. Worth every penny.

img 5/5.0 27, Apr 2024

Art on a Plate

Every dish looked like it belonged in a gallery. From the delicate nigiri to the colorful small plates, each course balanced flavor and texture perfectly. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and I loved the calm, respectful energy.

img 4/5.0 16, Apr 2024

Refined Japanese Dining

Sushi Taro offers a high-end yet comfortable experience. The sushi was delicate, and each piece felt thoughtfully prepared. The balance of flavors was impressive. The space is serene and welcoming, perfect for quiet dinners. You can really taste the dedication behind every detail of the meal.

img 4/5.0 12, Apr 2024

Exceptional Sushi, Limited Seating

The sushi was outstanding, fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. However, it?s a small space, and reservations are tough to get. Once you?re in, though, it?s an unforgettable meal that reminds you why Omakase is an art form.

img 3/5.0 02, Apr 2024

Lacked Warmth

The sushi was carefully made, but something was missing. The chefs were distant, and the service felt rehearsed. I left feeling like I had an expensive meal but not an enjoyable experience.

img 5/5.0 30, Mar 2024

A Memorable Sushi Experience

Every course felt intentional and crafted with care. The chef explained the origins of the fish and how best to enjoy each bite. It made the evening both delicious and educational. Truly one of the best dining experiences I?ve had in Washington DC.

img 5/5.0 19, Mar 2024

Flawless Dining Experience

From the moment I walked in, I felt well taken care of. The omakase selection was outstanding, offering a balance of flavor, texture, and presentation. The staff?s knowledge added depth to the experience. Every dish was a small piece of art. I?ll absolutely come back again soon.

img 4/5.0 17, Mar 2024

Excellent Food, Slightly Unbalanced Service

Food was among the best sushi I?ve had in DC. The array of small dishes before the sushi elevated the experience. Service was polite, though timing between courses was uneven, long pauses sometimes. Still highly recommend for sushi lovers.

img 4/5.0 05, Mar 2024

Great Sushi, Calm Setting

The sushi was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere that made the meal even better. The chefs took time to explain the dishes, which added a nice touch. While a bit pricey, the quality makes it well worth it. I?d definitely return.

img 5/5.0 03, Mar 2024

Freshness and Presentation Delight

What struck me most was how fresh everything tasted, the sashimi melted, rice was well seasoned, seaweed crisp. Even minor details like the wasabi?s kick were done just right. Visually, each plate looked like art. I?ll be back for sure.

img 2/5.0 20, Feb 2024

Underwhelming for the Price

The sushi was fresh, but not particularly memorable. The whole evening felt too long, and the atmosphere was more stiff than elegant. It?s not terrible, but definitely not worth the high price tag attached.

img 5/5.0 19, Feb 2024

Perfect for Special Dates

I brought my partner for a birthday dinner, and Sushi Taro delivered: elegant dining, precise service, and flavors that stood out course after course. The omakase counter makes it feel like you?re part of something personal. It?s pricey but perfect for celebrating.

img 5/5.0 06, Feb 2024

True Japanese Craftsmanship

Sushi Taro captures the essence of authentic Japanese sushi-making. The flavors are delicate but powerful, showing the chef?s expertise. The atmosphere feels calm and respectful, enhancing the dining experience. Every bite felt carefully planned. It?s clear they value tradition and quality over trends. A remarkable place overall.

img 4/5.0 05, Feb 2024

Impressive, With Minor Flaws

Quality of the fish was superb. The chef?s suggestions during the tasting course added nice surprises. Only downside: lighting was a little dim and my partner said the restaurant felt a bit cramped. Still, nearly flawless food made up for the rest.

img 5/5.0 23, Jan 2024

A Chef?s Touch in Every Course

Visiting the Omakase counter felt like stepping into a Japanese chef?s workshop. The small dishes at the beginning were playful and inventive, sashimi was pristine, sushi coming out at the right rhythm. Even dessert closed strong. Truly one of the best sushi experiences in DC.

img 5/5.0 22, Jan 2024

Best Sushi in Town

I?ve eaten at many sushi restaurants, but Sushi Taro stands out for its quality and precision. The omakase experience was thoughtful, and every bite was pure perfection. The staff made us feel welcome and explained each dish clearly. It?s definitely a must-visit for any sushi lover.

img 4/5.0 09, Jan 2024

Delicious but Demanding

Food and presentation are top tier; this is a place to come when you want something special. Just note the dietary restrictions are limited, vegan or gluten free is difficult here. The beauty of each dish does more than compensate, though.

img 4/5.0 08, Jan 2024

Sophisticated Sushi Spot

I really enjoyed the meal at Sushi Taro. Every dish was a perfect balance of taste and texture. The atmosphere was calm and elegant, and the service was friendly without being intrusive. It?s clear they take pride in their craft. Definitely a great choice for sushi enthusiasts.

img 5/5.0 27, Dec 2023

Worth the Premium Price

Yes, the cost of Omakase is steep, but every bite felt like it earned that price: seasonal sashimi, thoughtful small dishes, and moving to sushi?each one had its moment. The 22% service charge is heavy, but service matched the expectations.

img 3/5.0 26, Dec 2023

Nice Ambiance, So-So Food

The setting was beautiful and calm, but the food didn?t match. The sushi was fresh, but the rice felt off. It?s not bad, but it?s not something I?d recommend for the price you pay.

img 5/5.0 13, Dec 2023

Authentic Japanese, Exceptional Craftsmanship

Sushi Taro delivers an experience that feels authentic and refined. You can tell the chef cares about each piece: balance, detail, freshness. The omakase format allows some flexibility and interaction, which I appreciated. The ambiance also adds to the sense of ceremony.

img 5/5.0 11, Dec 2023

Exquisite from Start to Finish

My dinner here was a memorable experience. The omakase menu had a perfect flow, each dish more intriguing than the last. The fish was buttery and fresh, and the rice seasoned perfectly. The environment was peaceful and elegant. This is what great sushi should feel like?simple, precise, and full of heart.

img 2/5.0 30, Nov 2023

Beautiful Place, Mediocre Meal

The ambiance is classy, but the meal itself didn?t live up to expectations. The sashimi was fine but not mind-blowing, and the pacing of the dishes was inconsistent. At times we waited too long, and at others, dishes arrived too quickly. It all felt disjointed. Not terrible, but not worth the hype or cost.

img 4/5.0 28, Nov 2023

Great Taste and Presentation

Sushi Taro offered an impressive mix of traditional and modern sushi styles. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, and the balance between flavor and texture was on point. The staff was polite and informative. It?s definitely on the expensive side, but you?re paying for true craftsmanship.

img 3/5.0 17, Nov 2023

Rushed and Unbalanced

The Omakase dinner felt oddly rushed, even though we had a reservation weeks in advance. The staff kept bringing dishes before we?d finished the previous ones. The sushi quality was solid, but the experience lacked flow. For the price point, I expected a more thoughtful and personal approach. It?s not bad, just not worth repeating.

img 5/5.0 14, Nov 2023

Premium Sushi Experience

Everything from the first bite to the last was executed with perfection. The quality of fish was exceptional, and the flavors were clean and balanced. The staff?s professionalism added to the overall atmosphere. I?d call it one of the best sushi restaurants in the area for authentic experiences.

img 4/5.0 03, Nov 2023

Stellar Flavors, Slight Wait

The sashimi and sushi here are clearly sourced well, the flavor was rich and textures clean. My only gripe was the wait time for the last few courses during Omakase; pacing felt slow. Still, the overall meal was memorable and refined.

img 2/5.0 01, Nov 2023

Overhyped and Overpriced

I don?t mind paying for quality, but this didn?t deliver. The portions were small, and the flavors were fine but not exciting. The reputation of the place set my expectations too high. A bit disappointing overall.

img 5/5.0 21, Oct 2023

An Elegant Omakase Evening

The Omakase counter was everything I hoped for: beautifully plated, fresh seasonal fish, and a warm attentiveness from the chef. The dining room felt intimate but not stuffy. Prices are high, but with the service and quality you receive, I felt it was worth it.

img 4/5.0 18, Oct 2023

Beautifully Presented and Delicious

The presentation at Sushi Taro was elegant, and the sushi was excellent. Each course came with thoughtful flavor pairings that complemented one another. The chef?s skill is obvious in every piece. The entire dining experience felt intentional and calm. A must-try for anyone who values high-quality Japanese cuisine.

img 4/5.0 06, Oct 2023

Excellent Food, Slightly Unbalanced Service

Perfect Balance of Flavor

img 5/5.0 24, Sep 2023

Freshness & Presentation Delight

img 5/5.0 20, Sep 2023

Refined and Relaxing

Sushi Taro offered a calm and authentic experience that?s hard to find. The food was simple yet sophisticated, allowing the ingredients to shine. The service was polite and respectful throughout. It?s not just a meal but a peaceful experience that highlights the essence of Japanese dining. Highly recommend trying the chef?s choice menu.

img 2/5.0 09, Sep 2023

Expected More for the Price

The presentation was elegant, but the food itself lacked excitement. The sushi was good but not exceptional. For a $250 meal, I expected something unforgettable. The rice felt slightly dry, and the service felt mechanical. Maybe it was an off night, but I left feeling disappointed. Wouldn?t recommend for those expecting true value for money.

img 4/5.0 06, Sep 2023

Wonderful Omakase Course

I went for the Omakase menu, and it was absolutely worth it. The presentation was elegant, and the sushi was incredibly fresh. I appreciated the chef?s attention to detail and the subtle flavors in each dish. The whole evening felt special without being pretentious. A great spot for true sushi fans.

Great Food and Ambiance

The restaurant combines excellent sushi with a peaceful, refined environment. I especially loved the chef?s explanations of each dish. You can tell that great care goes into every bite. The service was smooth and respectful. It?s a little pricey but absolutely worth it for the quality you receive. A fantastic evening overall.

A Chef?s Touch in Every Course

Visiting the Omakase counter felt like stepping into a Japanese chef?s workshop. The small dishes at the beginning were playful and inventive, sashimi was pristine, sushi coming out at the right rhythm. Even dessert closed strong. Truly one of the best sushi experiences in DC.

img 5/5.0 25, Jul 2023

Worth Every Moment

My dinner at Sushi Taro was unforgettable. The Omakase journey was beautifully curated with a variety of flavors and textures. The fish quality was impeccable, and the presentation was artful. The quiet, elegant atmosphere made it even more enjoyable. Definitely one of the best sushi experiences I?ve had outside of Japan.

img 3/5.0 18, Jul 2023

Excellent Fish, Average Experience

The fish was undeniably fresh, but the experience didn?t feel cohesive. The service was robotic, and there was no sense of warmth or engagement from the chef. I?ve had better Omakase experiences in other cities for less money. Sushi Taro feels more about prestige than passion now, which is a shame given its reputation.

img 2/5.0 10, Jul 2023

Not Worth the Hype

I had heard so many great things, but the food was underwhelming. The sushi was fresh, but the flavors felt flat. The experience didn?t justify the high cost. Probably won?t go back again.

img 2/5.0 03, Jul 2023

Disappointing Omakase Experience

I came here hoping for an unforgettable sushi meal, but it felt underwhelming. The pacing was slow, and some courses arrived lukewarm. The flavors were mild, and the service staff seemed distracted. The bill at the end shocked me for what we received. It?s clear they aim for high-end, but the delivery fell short.

img 4/5.0 26, Jun 2023

Fresh and Flavorful

Every piece of sushi at Sushi Taro tasted incredibly fresh and balanced. The chef?s mastery of texture and seasoning was evident throughout the meal. The atmosphere was intimate, and the staff handled everything smoothly. While not cheap, it felt like money well spent. This is a place that values quality over quantity.

img 4/5.0 21, Jun 2023

Delicious but Demanding

Food and presentation are top-tier; this is a place to come when you want something special. Just note the dietary restrictions are limited, vegan or gluten-free is difficult here. The beauty of each dish does more than compensate, though.

img 5/5.0 12, Jun 2023

Elegant Dining Experience

Sushi Taro delivers a level of quality that?s hard to find elsewhere. The ingredients are premium, and you can tell each dish is handled with respect and skill. The environment feels calm and sophisticated. The Omakase experience is a must-try for anyone looking to explore real Japanese craftsmanship in sushi preparation.

img 5/5.0 05, Jun 2023

Worth the Premium Price

Yes, the cost of Omakase is steep, but every bite felt like it earned that price: seasonal sashimi, thoughtful small dishes, and moving to sushi, each one had its moment. The 22% service charge is heavy, but service matched the expectations.

img 3/5.0 27, May 2023

Inconsistent Experience

Some dishes were incredible, while others fell flat. The pacing was uneven, and our server seemed distracted at times. I expected more consistency from such a highly rated restaurant. Not bad, but not amazing either.

img 5/5.0 23, May 2023

Authentic Japanese, Exceptional Craftsmanship

Sushi Taro delivers an experience that feels authentic and refined. You can tell the chef cares about each piece: balance, detail, freshness. The omakase format allows some flexibility and interaction, which I appreciated. The ambiance also adds to the sense of ceremony.

img 2/5.0 11, May 2023

Good Food, Awkward Setting

The sushi was decent, but the environment felt overly serious. It?s hard to relax when everything feels so rigid. I came expecting warmth and hospitality, but it felt more like a performance than a meal.

img 3/5.0 07, May 2023

Great Quality but Poor Value

The sushi itself was fresh and beautifully presented, but the price tag just didn?t match the experience. The Omakase felt overly long with too many filler dishes. While I appreciate craftsmanship, it lacked excitement in flavor. You?re mostly paying for the ambiance, not necessarily the food. It?s fine for a one-time splurge but not something I?d do again soon.

img 2/5.0 29, Apr 2023

Overpriced for the Portion Size

I had high expectations after reading so many glowing reviews, but the reality was disappointing. The food tasted good, but the portions were far too small for what we paid. Spending over $200 per person and still leaving a bit hungry didn?t feel right. The service was polite but distant, and overall, it lacked warmth. I expected more from such a well-rated restaurant.

Beautifully Crafted Sushi

The sushi here was among the best I?ve ever had. Each piece had a perfect balance of rice, fish, and seasoning. The service was professional and efficient, and the pacing between dishes was just right. Though it?s a bit pricey, the experience makes it worth it. A great example of refined Japanese dining.

Stellar Flavors, Slight Wait

The sashimi and sushi here are clearly sourced well, the flavor was rich and textures clean. My only gripe was the wait time for the last few courses during Omakase; pacing felt slow. Still, the overall meal was memorable and refined.

Authentic and Artistic

Sushi Taro exceeded my expectations in every way. The sushi was delicate, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The staff explained each dish thoughtfully, adding a personal touch to the experience. The minimalist decor and calm atmosphere made it even better. You can feel the dedication to Japanese tradition in every bite. I can?t wait to return soon.
