Not as Responsive as Expected

Coverage is good, but I have found the Sterling Insurance company to not be very responsive; it takes a long time to get someone to answer the phone when seeking assistance with a policy. The website is also not the easiest to navigate. I'm going to seek a different solution.

Terrible Customer Service

I called customer support in order to ask a few questions regarding my policy. They were unhelpful, though, as I expected more than that. The customer support representative sounded almost unconcerned and explained everything too vaguely. In the end, I had to call that number multiple times before getting my answers. This has not yet been one of the best service experiences, so I'm changing providers.

Efficient and Trustworthy

I have had an excellent experience with Sterling Insurance. Their process of processing claims over accidents with me was really very fast. I was not hassled much over plenty of paperwork and time delay. It happened all fast, but my payout came without much muss or fuss. I have had other insurance companies in the past, but I never had one that was as reliable as Sterling to work with. I am confident that I will be renewing my policy with them.

Hard to Get

Difficult to contact on days one needs to make a claim. A busy phone line that only listened and responded after days. The waiting time to get someone to listen and respond could be much improved; they were quite efficient, though.

Slow Customer Service

I had an issue with car insurance. Wrote to customer care of Sterling; they were too slow to respond and even once the response came, the same issue was not overnight solved. So am highly disappointed by the level of service offered to me and shall seek alternatives elsewhere.

Fast Claim Resolution

A process of making claims became a lot easier with Sterling Insurance. Not so long ago, I was involved in a relatively minor accident in my car. Muddled Policy Information

I found the policy terms with Sterling Insurance quite vague. I had difficulty in deciphering the coverage options, and customer service did not seem very informative about explaining it. I do not know whether my policy will continue with them next year because I am not sure about the transparency of their conditions. Good coverage, but too pricey.

Poor Coverage Options

Sterling Insurance did not have as many coverage choices as I would have thought. I had hoped for much flexibility, but I had to settle for a plan that did not fit well into all of my needs. Customer service could not be helpful in finding such a solution. I will soon look elsewhere for an insurer.

Poor Communication

My experience with Sterling Insurance was not exactly great. I had to call in several times to get updates regarding my claim status. It was pretty disappointing, and the communication system was really weak. One would feel that he is being passed from one representative to another without answers that made much sense. Not up to par.

Hazy Policy Changes

They informed me that my policy was going to be changed, but they didn't let me know how that was actually going to affect my coverage. The company didn't explain the changes to me very well, so I'm still not over being anxiously concerned about the insurance I now carry. I will probably go elsewhere.

Sterling Insurance is one of the very few insurance companies that give value for the buck. They guided me in making my car insurance policy correspond to the pocket and need, and I can say that the whole process was smooth and swift. Average Service

Overall, the service of Sterling Insurance is rather average. There were no major complaints but nothing truly exceptional about their service. High premiums and poor customer service can't be used as their exceptions. I would say that, all things considered, I probably would not renew my policy with them again.

Long Wait Times

This service is not so bad, but for the most time, it took too long to get customer service on the phone. They need to work on reducing the response time. I think they are a bit understaffed. It can be quite tricky sometimes to get help when you want it.

Lack of Transparency

Slow Claims Process

I was involved in an accident, made a claim with Sterling Insurance but a very long time before the date and I would say it is such that I had to run after them to get every detail on the claim process. Although the coverage is good, the whole process is so slow. Frustrating Claims Experience

Exceptional Service and Competitive Price

For several years now, I have been honored to be a customer of Sterling Insurance. Their service has always impressed me. They are always competitive in the prices without losing any coverage, and this has put them out as the most used for the home and auto insurance. The customer care team is very warm, and they always answer questions and respond to concerns that arise. At one point when I had a small accident for which I had to file a claim, everything went on quite well and without any issues, keeping me posted at every step and also rather efficiently and promptly facilitated the payout. It's not easy to get a good insurance company both low rates, and good customer service, but Sterling seems to be able to encompass both these qualities. I'm sure my home and my car are covered, and I will be more than happy to refer Sterling Insurance for solid, problem-free insurance coverage.
