The facility said they don?t get real-time updates from SpareFoot, which was frustrating. I tried calling SpareFoot?s support but couldn?t get through to anyone for a while. I understand tech issues happen, but if the information on the site isn?t accurate or up to date, it defeats the purpose. I made a reservation through SpareFoot and got an email confirmation. But no one from the storage facility reached out to confirm anything, and when I tried calling them, no one picked up. I drove all the way over on move-in day, and the office was closed. The hours listed on SpareFoot were wrong, and I ended up waiting over an hour with my moving van outside. I contacted SpareFoot and they basically told me to try another day. That?s not helpful when you're on a tight schedule and paying movers by the hour. I get that some things are out of their control, but there should be better communication between SpareFoot and the facilities they list. It was a huge inconvenience, and I wouldn?t trust the site again unless they improve their system. It felt like I booked into thin air with no one actually managing the process.

A Disappointing Letdown
I used SpareFoot because a friend said it helped them find storage fast. At first, I agreed?it looked easy to use and had good prices listed. I reserved a 5x10 unit with 24-hour access and got the confirmation email. But when I arrived, the place told me the only available unit was a 10x10 for twice the price, and they didn?t offer 24-hour access at all. I showed them the SpareFoot email and they said they?ve had this issue before with inaccurate listings. I felt really misled and frustrated. I couldn?t afford the bigger unit and ended up driving to another location that thankfully had space. SpareFoot didn?t offer much support when I called them either?they just apologized but didn?t help me find a solution. This was during a time-sensitive move, and it made everything harder. I won?t be using the site again.

Not Worth the Time I Thought I Was Saving

But after reserving, things fell apart. The facility called me the next day to tell me the unit I reserved wasn?t available, even though SpareFoot said it was. They offered me a different unit at a much higher price. I called SpareFoot to complain, but they just said availability isn?t always guaranteed. If that?s the case, what?s the point of booking online? I had to cancel and start all over, which wasted more time than if I?d just called around myself in the first place. The site is a great idea, but the listings aren?t reliable and support doesn?t help much. I?m not saying it never works, but it didn?t work for me when I really needed it to.

Poor Coordination With Facilities

The Site Works, But Info Isn?t Reliable
I liked how SpareFoot was laid out?it was clean, easy to navigate, and had a lot of options to choose from. I found a nearby unit that matched what I needed, and the reservation process was super fast. However, the problem was when I got to the actual storage facility. The unit listed on the website was not what was available. The price was higher, and the unit wasn?t climate-controlled like it said online. The facility blamed SpareFoot, and SpareFoot blamed the facility. I ended up taking the unit because I had no time to search again, but I wasn?t happy. I feel like SpareFoot needs to do a better job verifying listings or checking that their partners are keeping info up to date. Misleading Pricing Details
