Love Everything About It
Roost & Root completely won us over. This coop is solid, well-designed, and made with care. We love how every part of the structure serves a purpose. The ventilation is perfect, and our chickens stay cool and dry. The cedar looks even better with time and gives off a great natural scent. Assembly was a fun project and went smoothly, even with just one of us doing most of the work. The included hardware was organized and complete. We added on the garden roof and now grow herbs right above our flock. Our family spends more time outside now just watching the chickens scratch around. The rainwater collection system works well and saves time. This purchase felt like a splurge at first, but after seeing the result, it feels like a smart investment. Everything functions beautifully, and we?d recommend it in a heartbeat. If you want a no-regrets coop, this is it.

Nearly Everything You Need
This coop checks almost all the boxes. We love the layout, the smart features like egg access, and how the design complements our yard. Assembly was a little tricky in a couple places?the instructions could be clearer in the hinge section?but everything turned out great in the end. Our hens enjoy the shaded area and have plenty of room to roam. We added the wheel system and recommend it for anyone who wants flexibility. The cedar is weathering well and smells nice too. One latch had a bent screw, but they sent a replacement quickly. Overall, this is a high-quality product backed by a responsive company. We?ve had lots of compliments and haven?t had to worry about predators or weather at all. Great for serious chicken keepers who also want a stylish setup. Would happily purchase another for expansion.

Looks Amazing, Built to Last
We were tired of flimsy coops and finally decided to invest in something better. Roost & Root was recommended by a friend, and we?re so glad we listened. The materials are solid and beautifully finished. Our coop arrived on time and was packaged extremely well. It did take us the full weekend to assemble, but once complete, the results were stunning. It fits perfectly into our garden, and neighbors have even asked where we got it. The chickens seem happier and healthier since moving in. Egg production is up, and we?ve had no predator problems thanks to the secure build. The wheel system makes it simple to relocate when needed. We love the thoughtful touches, like the ventilation design and weather protection. You can tell this was built by people who actually raise chickens. An Investment Worth Making
We took a chance on the Rooftop Garden Coop and have no regrets. Everything from the hardware to the cedar boards screamed quality. It took us about two days to fully assemble, but it was well worth the time. Once it was up, it became the centerpiece of our backyard. The elevated garden is not just decorative?we?ve got lettuce and basil growing up top! The chickens love the shade underneath and have stayed cool even during hot Texas afternoons. We added the rainwater harvesting kit and it's been surprisingly useful. The coop has been through two storms and not a leak in sight. Cleanup is simple, thanks to the open access points and raised design. What really sold us though was the thoughtful customer support. We had questions about placement and ventilation, and they responded within a day. Easily the best coop experience we've had. This is a keeper in every way.

High Quality and Durable
We live in the Southwest and needed a coop that could handle high winds, sun, and occasional rain. Roost & Root's Round-Top design stood out, and now that it's been in use for over three months, we can confidently say it's doing its job. It?s held steady through some pretty harsh weather. The cedar is aging beautifully and requires little maintenance. Our only minor complaint is that one of the roof brackets wasn?t pre-drilled, so we had to do that ourselves. Not a deal breaker, but something they could improve. Otherwise, the product is flawless. The hens settled in fast, and the easy-to-clean layout has made our lives much easier. The instructions were good, though could use slightly more clarity on a few diagrams. We still managed to get it assembled over a weekend. Happy to recommend this brand to others?especially if you're serious about chicken keeping and want something reliable.

Top-Tier Design and Experience
From start to finish, Roost & Root exceeded expectations. We ordered the Rooftop Garden Coop and received it about two weeks later. Every part of the packaging was labeled and protected. The cedar is gorgeous and smells amazing. Assembly took two days with no real issues. The structure is solid?weatherproof, secure, and easy to clean. What stood out was how helpful the company was before and after purchase. They responded quickly to our emails and even sent us extra screws just in case. We added the wheel system and now move the coop easily when needed. Our flock adjusted within a day, and we?ve already seen improved egg production. The Cadillac of Chicken Coops
If you?re looking for a coop that?s both functional and beautiful, look no further. This thing is a showstopper in our backyard. We got the Round-Top Stand-Up Coop and it checks all the boxes. It?s predator-proof, spacious, ventilated, and easy to maintain. Our chickens love the shaded area and spend all day lounging comfortably. The cedar smells amazing and we can tell it?ll weather beautifully. Assembly took two of us a full weekend, but it was a rewarding process. What really stands out is the thoughtful design?everything from door placement to the ramp angle just works. Roost & Root?s customer service was also excellent; they guided us on choosing the right size and upgrades. We even got the rainwater harvesting kit, which is super useful. This is the best chicken coop we?ve ever owned, hands down. The price is high, but the peace of mind and quality make it a smart buy.

Beautiful and Functional Coop
We spent a long time researching coops and finally landed on Roost & Root. We chose the Urban Coop model, and it arrived in three well-packed boxes. Assembly took the better part of two days but was actually enjoyable. Each panel was pre-cut perfectly and holes lined up with minimal effort. The only issue was that the instructions had a small error in the parts list, but it didn?t slow us down too much. The coop itself is visually stunning?guests always comment on it. Our hens have adjusted well and started laying again within days. The nesting boxes are easy to access and we love how easy it is to clean. One of the best features is the adjustable ventilation?perfect for our changing seasons. Customer service was kind and responsive, even when we had a couple of newbie questions. Would?ve given 5 stars if not for the small manual error.

A True Upgrade from Our Old Coop
After two years with a generic coop from a chain store, we finally upgraded to Roost & Root?and the difference is night and day. First, the materials are way more durable. The cedar wood not only smells great but is holding up beautifully in our humid climate. The design is incredibly thoughtful?our favorite feature is the roof overhang that keeps everything shaded and dry. We chose to install the Wheel Lift System, which makes repositioning super easy. Our hens are visibly more relaxed and active. They seem to love the roosting layout. Assembly wasn?t simple, but it was manageable with two people and the included instructions. The coop looks more like a mini cabin than a farm structure, and it fits into our backyard so well. If you?re on the fence about investing in a high-end coop, go for it. Backyard Coop That Does It All
We purchased the Round-Top Stand-Up Coop with the extended run and couldn?t be happier. Every part of the design feels intentional, from the nesting box access to the ample ventilation and shade. Assembly took time, but instructions were clear and every panel fit together like a puzzle. We live in a rainy area and the structure has remained watertight and sturdy. Smartly Designed Coop

Almost Perfect Backyard Coop
This coop looks like a tiny home for chickens?it?s that attractive! The cedar siding and metal roof make it feel very upscale. We?re happy with the build, but one of the screws stripped during assembly and we had to replace it. Still, everything else was smooth. Our hens love it, and it?s so easy to keep clean. We?ve recommended it to a few friends already. It?s a great balance between form and function. I just wish it had shipped a little faster.

Strong Build, Great Design
After a lot of comparison shopping, we went with Roost & Root and haven?t regretted it. The materials are far better than what you get from big box stores. Very Happy With the Purchase

Aesthetically Pleasing & Functional
We wanted something that worked well but also matched our garden?s aesthetic. Roost & Root checked both boxes. The coop looks beautiful and is clearly designed by people who keep chickens themselves. The only reason I?m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that one panel arrived with a slightly rough edge. Not a big deal?we sanded it down. Everything else was perfect. The ventilation, space, and easy access points make this coop really practical. We added the wheel lift system and can move it when needed. Built to Last
I?ve owned other coops in the past, but nothing compares to this one. From the moment we opened the box, we could tell it was made with care. Excellent Coop for Our Flock
We have six hens and bought the Stand-Up model with the extended run. It?s been great. There?s plenty of space for everyone, and the ventilation has kept everything dry, even on humid days. The cedar wood has aged nicely and gives our yard a cozy feel. We appreciated the detailed manual, and customer service was quick to respond when we had a question about installation. Great Coop, Minor Flaws

Everything We Hoped For

Nearly Perfect
We ordered the Round-Top Stand-Up Coop and are overall happy with the outcome. It came in multiple boxes, all well-packed. Instructions were detailed, but a few diagrams were slightly confusing. Still, we figured it out. Once assembled, the structure felt very sturdy. Our hens enjoy the ventilation and light. The coop also looks fantastic in our garden, like a little cedar cabin. Customer service helped us choose the right add-ons and answered our questions about predator-proofing. Only reason we?re giving 4 stars is due to a small scratch on one panel. Still, highly satisfied!

Great for Our Small Yard

Love the Build Quality

Backyard Game Changer

Sturdy and Beautiful

Terrible Communication

Parts Didn?t Line Up
Had to redrill two of the holes because the panels didn?t fit properly. Frustrating considering the cost. The coop itself is cute, but assembly was much harder than expected.

Needs Better Instructions
The instructions are too vague and leave out important steps. There were also some misspelled words, which made it look unprofessional. We figured it out eventually, but it took longer than it should have. Not for beginners.

Overhyped
Based on reviews we thought this would be amazing. It?s not. Looks good from the street, but inside the coop isn?t as functional as we hoped. Chickens are doing okay, but we?ve had to modify a lot. Wouldn?t order again.

Not Very Durable
After a few months, the wood started fading and some joints feel loose. We expected something sturdier. Had to tighten several screws and reinforce parts. Not falling apart, but doesn't feel like it?ll last as long as advertised.

Difficult to Reach Support

Not Water Tight

Poor Packaging
When our shipment arrived, several of the cedar panels were scratched. Packaging wasn?t secure enough for long travel. Customer service sent replacements, but it delayed our timeline a lot. They were polite, but the experience left a bad taste.

Paint Was Chipped
Our coop arrived with chipped paint on one of the doors. The box looked fine, so it must?ve been packed that way. We had to touch it up ourselves. Not a huge deal, but at this price, it should?ve been flawless.

Latch Didn?t Work
The door latch wouldn?t align no matter what we tried. Had to buy a separate lock to keep predators out. Support didn?t offer much help. Disappointed that such a basic part of the build was flawed. Chickens are safe now, but we had to DIY a fix.

Pricey for What You Get
Honestly, it?s not bad, but for this price we expected more polish. Some of the paint was uneven, and a board had a crack near the hinge. Looks nice from a distance but up close, not perfect. Not sure it?s worth the premium.

Assembly was a Headache

Roof Issues

Some Parts Didn?t Fit
Got the Rooftop model, but one of the walls was warped and didn?t align with the base. Took a lot of adjusting just to make it usable. Customer service replied, but slowly. A decent design ruined by sloppy execution. Definitely expected more given the price.

Not for the Inexperienced
Thought this would be easier to assemble than it was. Instructions were vague and hardware was mislabeled. Ended up watching YouTube videos to figure things out. It does look great once complete, but definitely not beginner-friendly. Wish the company had offered more help with the build process.

Took Forever to Arrive
Our coop showed up nearly a month late. No real updates during that time, and we were left guessing. Once it came, a piece was cracked and the stain looked patchy. Long Wait, Low Reward
We waited nearly two months for our coop to arrive, which is way longer than we were told. There was little to no communication during that time, and when we finally got it, two of the panels were cracked. Assembly instructions weren?t detailed enough, especially for some of the trickier angles. We expected better at this price point. The overall design is appealing, but construction was a pain and we?re still not sure how it?ll hold up in winter. Paint on the trim is already peeling in spots. The chickens are fine in it for now, but we?ve had to make small fixes ourselves. Customer support said they'd send a replacement for the broken board, but it's been over a week and no tracking info yet. We liked the concept, but the company needs to be more honest about timelines and improve their packaging. Disappointed overall.

Missed the Mark
The coop looks lovely once built, but the journey to get there was rough. Packaging was clunky, the instructions were poorly illustrated, and a couple of parts were mislabeled. We had to call in a carpenter friend to help complete the setup. To make things worse, the first delivery truck dropped the pallet in the wrong spot, making it harder to unload. While customer support was apologetic, they didn?t offer much help beyond vague instructions. The coop has potential and the materials aren?t bad, but the assembly process makes it hard to recommend. It?s frustrating to spend this much and still have to troubleshoot so many things. I like that it?s made in the USA and appreciate the design, but the quality control and customer experience need improvement. Definitely not a plug-and-play option. If you?re not super handy, this will test your patience.

Stylish But Not Durable
We were drawn in by the modern aesthetic of Roost & Root?s coops and were ready to invest. While the coop looked great at first, problems started within a month. The roof began to leak during light rain, and one of the hinges already shows signs of rust. This isn't what we expected from something marketed as premium. Support was responsive, but their solution was to send weather stripping, which we had to install ourselves. The cedar wood is already discoloring and looks rough. We live in a mild climate, so it?s concerning how quickly the wear started. The chickens don?t seem bothered, but we?re constantly worried about long-term durability. It?s also much harder to clean than advertised?there?s not enough room to maneuver inside. This coop might work better in dry areas, but if you expect year-round use and low maintenance, you might want to look elsewhere.

Disorganized and Slow
This purchase was one of the most frustrating experiences we've had. The order confirmation didn?t include an ETA, and it took several days just to find out when it would ship. When it finally arrived, half the components were missing. The response time from customer service was glacial?sometimes days with no reply. The replacement parts finally came, but they weren?t even the correct size. We had to remeasure and send photos multiple times. The coop design looked beautiful online, but the real thing felt slapped together. Boards weren?t flush, doors didn?t align, and it took extra time and tools just to make it safe for our hens. After weeks of dealing with these issues, we just wanted to be done. The whole experience left us exhausted and honestly kind of bitter. It?s hard to enjoy something when the process to get there was so painful.

Overrated Experience
The coop seemed promising and we liked the photos on the website, but from the moment the delivery arrived, issues started. First, the crate was damaged and two panels had large dents. Then, while assembling, we realized multiple boards were warped. Customer service was slow to respond and at one point even gave us incorrect tracking info for the replacement parts. We spent over three weekends trying to complete the build. It?s not that we?re inexperienced?this is just not well designed for ease of assembly. Once done, the coop looked nice, but our chickens didn?t seem too comfortable. We had to add extra insulation and redo the ramp which was too steep. It feels like style won out over substance in this design. If you're handy and ready to modify the product, maybe it?ll work, but we wouldn't go through this again. Just not the quality we expected at all.

Quality Control Lacking
The idea behind Roost & Root?s designs is great, but the follow-through just wasn?t there in our experience. The coop came with warped panels and missing screws. When we reached out, it took several days to get a response, and the replacements also arrived late. Assembling the structure was more difficult than we expected ? directions weren?t clear, and holes didn?t always line up. We had to make several adjustments, and even then, the doors didn?t close tightly. The wood looked beautiful, but some parts arrived with rough edges and splinters. I wouldn?t call it beginner-friendly at all. Our chickens are in, but we?re constantly checking for gaps and water seepage after rain. I wish the customer service had been more responsive and proactive. It?s not a complete disaster, but for the price we paid, the product should have been far more polished. Still debating if we should reinforce it ourselves.

Pretty But Not Practical
Visually, the coop is beautiful, but functionally it leaves a lot to be desired. Our first big storm revealed poor sealing around the roof ? water pooled inside the nesting box area. Some of the wood appears untreated and already shows signs of swelling. We also had a major issue with the run door latch; it didn?t line up with the frame and required us to rig a fix. Contacting customer support was a drawn-out process with slow replies and unclear answers. While they eventually offered a partial refund, it didn?t really fix the problem. This was not an easy build either. The coop came with multiple parts that weren?t labeled, and instructions didn?t match the hardware we received. We wanted to love it, but the practicality isn?t there. Unless you?re willing to do extra work post-purchase, this may not be the right fit. Good concept, poor execution.

Really Underwhelmed
After months of researching coops, we landed on Roost & Root based on reviews and aesthetics. Sadly, our experience was far from smooth. First, our delivery was delayed without clear updates. Then when it arrived, the box was damaged and some screws were missing. After contacting support, we were told to check the packaging more carefully, which felt dismissive. The coop pieces were scratched and not as high-quality as advertised. Assembly was a nightmare ? diagrams were confusing, and parts were not labeled clearly. Once set up, we noticed the door didn?t close flush and gaps were present where rain could seep in. It felt more like a DIY kit than a finished product. For the amount we spent, I expected something closer to turnkey. We?ve had to make multiple adjustments and still don?t feel confident our hens are secure in bad weather. Sadly, this has been a huge letdown.

Needs Better Instructions and QA
While the design looks fantastic on the website, the reality of building the coop was frustrating. The printed manual had a page missing and the online version didn?t match our version. Multiple holes didn?t line up properly and we had to drill our own, which shouldn?t be necessary on a premium-priced product. Also, two of the cedar boards had large splinters, and the paint had run in some areas. We contacted Roost & Root, and although they were friendly, it took a week to get the replacement parts. The coop itself is sturdy once built, but we spent way more time troubleshooting than expected. The lack of quality control was disappointing. For this price point, I expected a smoother and more refined experience. It looks nice in the yard now, but we?ll think twice before ordering anything else from them again. Hopefully they take feedback seriously and improve the assembly experience.

Frustrated With the Process
We were excited to order our first chicken coop from Roost & Root, but the experience fell short. Delivery took nearly three weeks beyond the promised window, and communication was sparse. When it finally arrived, one panel was cracked and another piece was missing. Reaching customer service took multiple attempts, and although they eventually sent a replacement, the delay added a lot of stress. The instructions were vague in some places and the labeling on the hardware didn?t match what was in the manual. For the price we paid, I expected a much smoother process. Once it was assembled, the coop was decent enough, but not flawless. The roof wasn?t aligned properly and required adjustments. We made it work, but I wouldn't call it hassle-free. The coop looks good, but getting it set up was a headache. Not sure I?d recommend this to someone without serious DIY experience.

Perfect for Harsh Weather
