A Five-Star Experience at Home
This was hands down one of the best dining experiences we?ve ever had. On Thyme created a full four-course menu for my husband?s birthday, and it felt like we were dining in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The flavors were complex, yet comforting. Every detail was considered, even the plating and dishware. The chef was warm, knowledgeable, and moved through our kitchen like it was his own. I didn?t have to lift a single thing. Our guests were blown away. It was personal, delicious, and worth every cent. We?ve already recommended On Thyme to several friends.

Excellent Food, Minor Delays
The dishes were creative and flavorful, especially the lamb chops with mint chimichurri. Our chef was very talented and professional, though there was a slight delay between the first and second courses. It wasn?t a big deal, but noticeable. Everything else was fantastic?fresh ingredients, visually appealing plates, and a smooth clean-up process. Definitely a great experience overall, and we?d consider doing this again soon.

Overpriced for the Experience
On Thyme looked like the perfect solution for our anniversary dinner, but the results didn?t justify the cost. Booking was easy, but communication after that was spotty. The chef showed up on time but seemed flustered and didn?t explain the courses as expected. While a couple of dishes were nice, one had undercooked rice and another lacked seasoning. Portions were a bit small, and there was nothing memorable about the presentation. The chef left without a goodbye, which felt cold and unprofessional. Cleanup wasn?t thorough either?we had to finish wiping down areas ourselves. I wouldn?t call the experience awful, but for the price, it didn?t meet expectations. There was effort, just not the finesse you?d want from a premium service. We were hoping for a smooth and elevated evening, and it just fell short in too many areas.

Elegant and Stress-Free Evening
Hosting a dinner party always stresses me out, but not this time. On Thyme took care of everything. They helped plan a seasonal menu and adjusted it to accommodate a guest with allergies. The chef was punctual, calm, and efficient. Each course came out with perfect pacing. The roasted beet salad was especially beautiful and full of flavor. Dessert was light and refreshing, which was a nice touch. I didn?t have to do dishes or worry about timing. We actually got to enjoy our guests and the evening. Everyone complimented the experience. Would book again without hesitation.

Chef Was Unprepared and Distracted
The overall idea of On Thyme is great, but our particular experience left a lot to be desired. The chef seemed unprepared?he forgot a couple of ingredients and had to improvise. That led to a chaotic kitchen scene and a long delay in serving. The food, unfortunately, reflected that?one dish was bland, the other slightly raw in the center. It wasn?t just the food either; the chef seemed distracted and not particularly focused on the task. There wasn?t much communication or courtesy during the event. The dessert, while tasty, was clearly pre-made and just plated on the spot. I understand that not every experience is perfect, but when you pay for a private chef, you expect more attention to detail and professionalism. It felt more like a rushed catering job than a personal dining experience. We won?t be booking again, at least not anytime soon.

A Rough First Impression
We scheduled a tasting dinner to try out On Thyme before committing to a larger event. The menu sounded great on paper, but the execution was inconsistent. One of the appetizers arrived cold and the entr?e was slightly burnt. While the chef was polite, there wasn?t much engagement or explanation about the food served, which felt impersonal. The kitchen wasn?t left in bad shape, but we did have to re-clean some counters afterward. Also, a couple of utensils were left soaking in the sink instead of being washed. Not a major issue, but still something you notice. The dessert was the best part?light, flavorful, and well-presented?but it didn?t redeem the earlier courses. For the price point and branding, we expected a better introduction to the service. We may try again in the future, but only if we hear there have been improvements. Hoping this was just an off night.

Unbelievably Good Service
On Thyme brought us an experience that was equal parts gourmet and relaxing. We used the service for our small wedding dinner and it could not have gone better. Not the Quality We Anticipated
We tried On Thyme for a birthday celebration with high hopes, but unfortunately the whole experience was underwhelming. The chef seemed rushed and forgot to bring one of the key ingredients for the main course. That led to a change in the menu on the fly, and honestly, the replacement dish felt like a last-minute fix. The dessert was okay, but not impressive. The overall flavor lacked creativity, and some items were overcooked. Also, there wasn?t much attention to presentation, which was surprising given this is supposed to be a personalized experience. Cleanup was fine, but we were left disappointed overall. We expected something more polished and elegant for the price we paid. I?ve had better meals at chain restaurants, to be honest. Wouldn?t recommend for special occasions, maybe casual dinners at best. Felt like the service just wasn?t prepared to handle events with higher expectations.

Lovely Experience with Small Quirks
Overall, we were very happy with the On Thyme service. The chef was punctual, polite, and handled our home kitchen with ease. The food was flavorful and the presentation was clearly done with care. Our only complaint is that one course had a little too much salt, and the appetizer wasn?t as warm as we hoped. But everything else was excellent. The lemon tart at the end was so good we were fighting over the last bite. Cleanup was handled professionally and we appreciated the chef walking us through each dish. It felt both luxurious and comfortable. Despite the couple of hiccups, we?re already looking at dates to do it again. Very good experience and worth the try.

Professionalism and Flavor Combined
We were skeptical at first, unsure if a personal chef experience would be worth it?but On Thyme blew us away. The process was seamless from start to finish. Great Flavors, Slight Room to Improve
