Unreliable Service

My SelectQuote experience was pretty underwhelming. The agent did provide some information on the type of plans available, but as for detailed costs and the benefits to be covered, the explanations were not very clear. I had asked for out-of-pocket expenses and deductibles and did not get clear answers, but instead, was brushed off or made to feel like I was just wasting the agent's time, leaving me with even more questions than I started with. It wasn't transparent enough, and it made me think if they were hiding something from my view. I feel there ought to be open communication when decisions are being made regarding health insurance policies, which was not the case here in SelectQuote. The experience made me uncomfortable with their services.

Confusing Communication

Someone said they were going to send a follow-up email, but I never received one. It was called in twice after which I didn't receive the service I had requested. It's just bad when the companies don't do as they have promised to do. Very dissatisfied with their professionalism in handling consumers.

A Lack of Communication

SelectQuote was an extremely disappointing experience. I had the feeling that the agent sounded more interested in selling me a plan soonest than to actually understand my needs. I felt pressured all through the conversation. They would not cease with their recommendation without hearing my worries. When I asked for other alternatives, they promptly brushed it off and told me that his recommendation was the best I could get. I wanted more flexibility and personalized advice and not one size fits all recommendations. More, I didn't find that they clearly addressed the cost involved, and it left me unsure of what I'd actually be paying for. Leaving the call even more irritated than satisfied, I don't think I'd suggest this service to people who need balanced, honest help.

Unreliable Follow-Up

I reached out to SelectQuote for Medicare support, but it was not what I had envisioned. The first agent I spoke with seemed very helpful; however, follow-through was totally absent. They promised to come back and call me with more information on the other plans, and they never did. It was really tough on me when I tried contacting them and was made to wait for long periods of time and persons that do not appear to know anything about my previous inquiries. When I finally went through to the next agent, it seemed like they did not know anything about my previous inquiries, and I was frustrated at what seemed to be a lack of coordination within their team. I value consistency, especially on matters like Medicare, and SelectQuote failed to keep it consistent. I got other alternatives.

At first, I was quite excited when I walked into SelectQuote to get advised on Medicare. In all actuality, nothing could have gone any worse than it did. The agent was over-blathering with so much information. It became pretty complex in trying to understand and digest so much instead of taking a more guided approach through the options. The agent was more about technical terms and details regarding the plans. Making things worse, the follow-up call was just as vague. They seemed to have an intellect problem because no concern I raised made any sense, and they just kept stating the same thing over and over again. I would have thought that all of this is better done with a lot more apparent sincerity and patience when making a decision as important as one on health care for me and my family. In the final analysis, I was forced to look elsewhere for help because I was not confident of what I was getting with SelectQuote.

Lack of Transparency

At first, I selected SelectQuote based on its great reputation, but the overall service they offered didn't meet my expectations. I had been calling to obtain information about Medicare plans. The first call was okay, but everything else got all mixed up. The fact that he assured me that I would receive an email with the other plans available was true, and then never sent it. I tried to call several times. Each time I waited for such a long period before getting put on hold or being transferred from one department to another. It was like I was getting nowhere, with no support whatsover. I did eventually get to talk to someone, but the information all conflicted and I never knew which to believe. You'd expect a lot more from the communication side of things when going through something as sensitive as health care. Really, really disappointing.
