Smooth Process Overall
LoanDepot had a smooth process. My questions were answered promptly and the team was responsive in keeping me abreast of the whole loan process. I appreciate their way of making me feel well-informed with each step I took. Closing was a bit long in coming, but overall, they handled everything professionally. If I did it again someday, I would definitely consider them.

Helpful Team, Transparent Rates

Bad communication
My time with loanDepot was frustrating due to bad communication. They kept me in the dark about my application status, and every time I had questions, they switched me over to a different representative. It was frustrating to have the same questions asked of me multiple times and feel as though I wasn't being answered to the fullest. Closing really took too long. I was nervous and was not happy with the whole process altogether. The quotation is fair, but customer services are never that great. In fact, even after closing, some hidden charges also came about which were not told to me before that; therefore, I could not tolerate this experience to have to go through loanDepot again. Hope they get their act together regarding follow-through and communication in the future.

Confusing Fee Structure
Another thing that was a little confusing for me is the cost of loanDepot. For whatever reason, I never felt fully knowledgeable about costs from the very beginning, and suddenly other fees start appearing. They did process my loan without much delay, but due to this vagueness in the matter of costs, I was pretty apprehensive. A clearer break-up at the beginning would have been nice.

Professional Service and Smooth Process
loanDepot made the refinance process of my life. All of this began with my loan officer, friendly, patient, taking her time to explain everything in detail, which was fantastic because they made me feel so welcome. That application went well, nice and gentle and took absolutely no time at all. Everything else moved at such speed there were no big delays or anything like that. I got a competitive rate that cut my monthly payments way down, which was important for me. They followed up after closing to make sure everything was done correctly. I would recommend loanDepot to friends and family looking to refinance with a company that is reliable.

Excellent Refinance Experience with Knowledgeable Team
But, after working with loanDepot on my refinance, I'd say it was truly one of the best experiences I've had with a lender. From the initial inquiry all the way to final closing, the whole process had a good feel to it and was very transparent. His knowledge of the loan process is fantastic; he always had the time to answer any of my questions or concerns, handled issues as they arose before him promptly, and even some other opportunities for savings that I wouldn't have thought about in this way. The online portal made tracking the process to upload documents and get updates a piece of cake. Although it took a bit longer than I would have liked, it was well worth the wait with the rate that I received. I really appreciated the extra step they were willing to take in getting everything ready for closing. No one ever made me feel like I was being pushed at any point, and loanDepot now sits atop my list for anyone thinking of refocusing.

Well Satisfied with the Service

Disorganized and Frustrating Experience
Honestly, I was really disappointed with my experience at loanDepot. Honestly, there was sometimes uncommunicative communication, and I couldn't reach my loan officer. Several times I got conflicting information; it was confusing, and I was getting stressed. Closing costs were way too high than I expected because fees were never disclosed. It was somewhat disorganized, so it was quite frantic the whole way through. I had to spend a lot more time than I expected to get everything accomplished. The rates were great, but having to go back and forth and unclear communication makes me wish I would have chosen a lender that had better reviews on these things. loanDepot some good stuff, but for that lack of support and things felt really hard to make a leap of faith with their service. Hopefully, they work on these areas for the future customers.

Difficult Communication
Sometimes, it was akin to having to pull teeth from loanDepot to communicate. I often found myself in the dark and had to dig up the information myself. The end result is that they did get the job done, but frustrating nonetheless. The rates were fine, but wish they contacted me more often. Can be a less hassle.way much.

LoanDepot actually impressed me from the beginning and I must say I had a really good experience. The loan officer I was working with was so supportive and helpful providing me all the regular information updates on everything that happened in the process. Lack of Transparency and Delays
I had the worst experience with loanDepot: a total lack of transparency, ongoing delays, and much more. The process was everything but smooth. Actually, the loan officer with whom I was working appeared overwhelmed with work; I was actually forced to chase him for updates multiple times. When I asked about fees, no one gave me an answer at all. I also found fees on my final statement that were never discussed beforehand. It was drawn out, based on document requests-whose were many. If all of that had been addressed up front, I would feel that a lack of communication and transparency actually added stress to the process. Rates are competitive, but the frustrations I endured while managing to deal with their team make these benefits minimal. For those considering loanDepot, make sure you get clear, documented answers on all fees before committing.

Confusing Process
loanDepot's process was haphazard and confusing to me. I needed to make a lot of calls to get some of the fees and timelines straightened out for myself. Bad Communication
The communication for the loan process was really bad from loanDepot. A lot of the time I had to follow up on things myself and, when they did get back to me, it was very vague. Good rate but the lack of proactive communication made it a whole lot more stressful than it had to be. Next time, I'll look for other options.

Smooth Refinance with Great Rates
The entire refinance process with loanDepot was absolutely seamless. To start with, my loan officer simplified everything in explanation and supported me through the various steps involved. I loved the fact that the provided rate was very competitive, and there were no hidden fees, which really made the entire process very easy to follow. Supportive and Informative Loan Process
I had an excellent experience with loanDepot from start to finish. My loan officer was very supportive and went through every step of the loan process in a very easy-to-understand manner. This was my first time refinance so having guidance thru it was huge relief. The interest rate they quoted was competitive and beneficial to me. There were no unexpected fees at closing. The online system employed by the group for submission of documents really made it very easy, and I could always see where things were with my application. My biggest holdup was at the appraisal end, but the loan officer kept in good touch with regular advice on how things were going. I was never treated as an unimportant customer and truly believed that loanDepot cared about getting me to meet my goals. Sticky Situation with Surprise Charges
LoanDepot made me go through a frustrating hassle from start to finish. Honestly, I thought it would be hassle-free, but boy was I wrong. My loan officer giving me the application often told me different things at each follow-up, that I was confused and at times delayed on questions from a customer looking for more updates and clarifications. Undisclosed fees cropped up on the closing date that we hadn't discussed; it was really a terrible impression-and to top it all, I did feel cheated at the end of it. What initially was quite attractive with respect to interest rates turned out less competitive because of extra charges. So, the whole process reflected all sorts of disorganization coupled with bad communication in all its priorities. If you are considering loanDepot, make sure you get all fees verified and communications clear from the beginning. My experience was disappointing, and I shouldn't have gone back to loanDepot again. The company was not willing to clarify any thing, giving it a bad impression.

Lack of Clear Communication
I was frustrated with what happened at loanDepot. I did not receive much communication. Right from the beginning, I always got that feeling of not knowing what was coming next. My time of not having much contact with my loan officer was pretty much the entire time. I wanted a smooth refinance process, but delays stretched out the timeline. I would ask for an update on what was happening every time, but then get different answers or incomplete information at best. There were fees I was not even aware of that came with closing costs. That definitely added stress to the process. I would have felt they were not very proactive or clear in communication. I was satisfied with the rates, however, the lack of organization and explanation took away from positives. In general, experience was very disappointing, and I would not choose to loanDepot again. Hope they take a little of this criticism and improve some of their communication practices, so maybe some of the next customers won't have to fight as hard.

Poor Customer Service and Hidden Fees
