Delays in Claim Processing

Signed up with Kin because the rates seemed relatively low; actually found the sign-up process pretty easy. But when I needed to file a claim after a storm, surprisingly and irritatingly it took a really long time processing it. Every single time that I called for updates, I thought that I was getting information which was just opposite from what another agent gave me. It was supposed to be a simple claim. However, it dragged for weeks and kept me in the dark most of the time. Kin's website and app were helpful for basic information, but nothing really gave me substantial assistance in processing actual claims. I needed more transparency regarding the system as well as much faster response times in such critical situations. Overall, while satisfactory in the first instance, dealing with claims made me regret my decision to switch to this provider. Improving the way it communicates claims would help the most.

High Premium After First Year

At first, I thought Kin would be a good option, but after a year, my premium went through the roof. They weren't clear on when it was going to happen, so I experienced a bit of a shock. The service has been excellent in explaining why the increase occurred, but it saddens me to see these kinds of jumps. I think the rate-increase transparency might be better so people could budget for this kind of increase.

Limited Options for Additional Coverage

I wanted a few additional coverages tacked on to my policy. In that respect, Kin had far fewer options than some of the other carriers. For a basic policy, they will be sufficient. But if you want one that covers special or secondary things, they might not do it as well. I hope they improve their selection in the future.

Good Coverage with Clear Communication

Kin has served really well for insurance purposes. It was very straightforward, and I liked how they made everything very clear. Slow and Inefficient Claims Process

I was glad I signed up with Kin because of the extremely low prices and an easy configuration process but everything started going sour when I had to file a claim. Much to my surprise, the whole process took much longer and, in fact, I had to call a few times to know anything about my claim. Actually, every time I made a call, I was met with a different representative who didn't seem to know my case. As a consequence, confusion and delay were the outcomes. I sought an easy close, but it appears I was always kept in the dark. Kin's customer service for the claims process did not meet my expectations. What I sought was a responsive team, especially during a trying moment, but Kin fell flat. I hope they do something about the response from claims because the lack of transparency and consistency made me think hard about continuing coverage. If claims are what you're looking for, then you should probably search elsewhere.

Inconsistent Customer Service

I used Kin for the minimal premiums and ease of sign-up. But I didn't leave without some complaint on customer service. I also found more than a few instances where my answers regarding my coverage and the details of my policy were different every time. It was very hard to manage my insurance, bringing questions about reliability to the fore. When I needed Kin to look so clear the most, it could not at all deliver a consistent experience. Although price was affordable, communication with the customer service was just so difficult; thus, it was not easy to be very sure. Hopefully, the company will get an opportunity to improve how they communicate within themselves sooner because trying to handle their representatives was all about guessing, more or less.

Price Hikes After Renewal

Kin was fine for the first year, but when it was time to renew the policy, I found that the rates had gone way up. The increase was very high with no apparent cause for the change. Poor Communication During Claims

I started with Kin on a very positive note, but everything changed the moment I made my claim. Communication was patchy, and I had to make multiple calls inquiring on updates. Each time, different timelines were given, which seemed like no one knew what to do or say. I would expect things to be run more effectively, especially with regards to my property getting damaged. The establishment process of the policy was really pretty smooth at the first occasion, but Kin sure didn't step up at the time that I really needed them. It took me quite a while before I really got to see what they could do, and by that time, I was frustrated. So, I needed timely communication and support-but I received all of that not at all. Kin needs to improve its claims-handling process in order not to leave the customer feeling in the dark. This experience has reminded me of a possible change to a company that has an efficient process for handling claims.

Unclear Coverage Details

I settled for Kin because the premiums were very low. But soon I realized that some information was not going to come through properly. Sometimes callouts from trying to clarify just what my policy does covered differed from one person to the other that one would not feel assured of what is covered. Late Response in Emergency

I went to Kin because it was cheap, but the service is really lousy when it came to response time when I needed to be attended to with urgency after the storm. My roof was ruined and had lodged a claim expecting a prompt response. But what I had to wait for was more than a couple of days just to be called back, and the communication was frustratingly ad-hoc. Each representative seemed confused as to where my application stood and it felt that I was the one chasing the issue rather than them proactively helping with it. It was such a stressful experience, but in my view, Kin is not serious about your case. I wanted rapid action with dependable communication during the crisis, and that was not there with Kin. To begin with, the savings were huge, but I have since had to make a rethink over the decision because that wasn't present in the claims experience, which was highly sub-standard. They need to quicken their response and be much more urgent when it matters.

Claims Hassle Process

I might have started with Kin because of the low quotes they gave me, but I quickly changed my mind once I went through their claims process. The more time passed before a claim, the fewer updates one received, and one was left to wonder when and if it was coming.
