Works Great for My Apartment

Support Was Friendly, But Solutions Didn?t Stick
I had issues right after setup with some of the door sensors triggering false alarms. I contacted support, and while they were friendly and tried to help, the problem kept coming back. I reset the sensors, checked placement, and even swapped one out, but the false alarms didn?t stop. It?s not every day, but enough to make me not trust it fully. When a security system sends unnecessary alerts, it makes you start to ignore them?which defeats the whole point. I was hoping for a smoother experience. I still use the system, but now I don?t fully rely on it. Maybe it?s better in certain homes or setups, but mine didn?t work out great. I appreciate the good customer service, but at some point, it?s the actual equipment that needs to perform consistently. Otherwise, you?re just babysitting your security system instead of relying on it.

I really wanted to like Cove, but the app has been the biggest letdown. It frequently crashes or takes forever to load when I try to arm or disarm the system remotely. One time, the system failed to arm while I was out, and I only realized it hours later. That kind of defeats the purpose of having a home security system. Customer support was polite but couldn?t offer a long-term fix. I?ve tried reinstalling the app and updating my phone, but the issue persists. Not Ideal for Non-Standard Homes
I live in a slightly older home, and Cove?s sensors didn?t fit well on some of the door frames and windows. The adhesive pads wouldn?t stick properly on textured surfaces, and the alignment wasn?t always possible because of how things are built here. I ended up having to use extra tape and even small brackets to keep things in place. That took away from the whole ?easy install? appeal. Also, one of the motion sensors gave a false reading the first night, which made me question the reliability. I called support and they were helpful, but there?s only so much they can do when the physical product doesn?t match every home layout. If you live in a newer or more uniform space, I can see this working better. But for those in older houses or apartments, it?s not always a perfect fit.

Inconsistent Notifications
One of my main complaints about Cove is the inconsistency with the app notifications. Sometimes they?re immediate, other times there?s a noticeable delay?especially during peak hours. I noticed this more when I?m traveling or on mobile data. It becomes hard to trust the alerts if you?re not sure when you?ll receive them. The hardware itself is fine, but it relies so much on the cloud and app functionality that when those don?t perform perfectly, it affects everything. I contacted support and was told it could be related to my network, but I?ve tested this on multiple devices and networks with the same results. I think the backend just isn?t optimized well enough. A few minutes delay can make a big difference in a security situation. I hope they work on their infrastructure soon because this really impacts the overall trust in the system.

Sensors Constantly Disconnect
I?ve had ongoing issues with the window and door sensors losing connection to the main hub. Sometimes they?ll work for days, and then suddenly I?ll get a ?sensor offline? message. I?ve tried moving the hub around and even resetting the system, but it keeps happening. I live in a two-story house, so I?m guessing the range is just not good enough for larger homes. It?s frustrating to feel like parts of your house aren?t actually protected, especially when you paid for a full system. Tech support has been kind, but they just tell me to reboot everything or check Wi-Fi. That only helps temporarily. I wish Cove had better signal range or some kind of extender option. I wanted this to be a reliable setup, but the repeated disconnections are wearing me down. I don?t feel as secure as I should with a home security system.

Equipment Returned Due to Compatibility
I had to return the entire system because it wasn?t compatible with my mesh Wi-Fi setup. The hub kept dropping offline, and even though I followed the setup instructions exactly, it wouldn?t stay connected. Customer support was responsive, but they couldn?t solve the problem. I was told the hub doesn?t always work well with certain dual-band routers. I wish they made that clearer before I ordered. It would?ve saved a lot of time and effort. The return process wasn?t terrible, but it did take a while to get my refund. Overall, it?s disappointing to invest time into setup just to learn your home network isn?t supported well. Cove may work fine for others, but for me, the tech compatibility issues were a deal-breaker. Not every system works in every home, and this one just didn?t work in mine.

Return Process Was a Hassle
I ended up returning my Cove system after two weeks. While the product itself seemed decent, it just didn?t meet my expectations. The setup was easy, but the sensors didn?t fit properly on a couple of older window frames in my apartment, and the sticky pads wouldn?t hold for long. What really frustrated me was the return process. It wasn?t as smooth as they make it sound online. I had to call customer support twice just to get a return label, and then I had to wait for approval. They asked a lot of questions and made me feel like I was doing something wrong for wanting to return it. The refund also took almost three weeks to process. I wish the return policy was more straightforward and less of a hassle. The system might work better for others, but my experience wasn?t what I hoped for.

Decent System, But Lacking in Upgrades
I?ve had Cove for almost a year now. While it?s been mostly reliable, I?m starting to feel like the system hasn?t evolved much. There haven?t been many software updates or improvements to the app. I would?ve liked to see more smart features added over time?like facial recognition or better automation. Even small things like custom arming schedules or more flexible alert options would be helpful. It still works, but it?s starting to feel outdated compared to newer systems coming out. It?s okay if you want something basic and stable, but if you?re looking for a more future-ready system, you might feel a bit stuck. I haven?t had any major failures or security problems, which is great, but I wish they were innovating more. Camera Lags and No Local Backup
The biggest issue I?ve had with Cove is the camera lag. When I try to view the live feed, it takes too long to load, and sometimes it doesn?t even connect. That?s a big problem when you?re trying to check in quickly on your home. Also, there?s no option for local storage. Everything is cloud-based, and the cloud service costs extra. I would?ve liked a backup plan that doesn?t rely entirely on Wi-Fi or the app. If your internet drops, you lose access to monitoring completely. I feel like security systems should have a failsafe, especially in case of outages. I contacted support about the lag, and while they acknowledged the issue, they didn?t offer much in terms of fixing it. I?m sticking with it for now, but I don?t feel as confident in this system as I should. A few improvements would go a long way.
