Unexpected Fees and Limited Customer Support

BankFive has been a bit of a disappointment, with surprise fees popping up everywhere. I was first really drawn in by the idea of low fees; over time, charges for things I did not expect have balanced this out. For instance, there were some fees on transactions that I thought were free, and when I called asking for explanations, the customer service team didn't really make things very clear. They were polite but seemed to not be able to assist me in finding solutions for my problems. I felt shuffled around from agent to agent, still having no answers. I do realize that with banking, there are going to be fees; however, all fees should be clear and concise. Due to the lack of clear-cut information thus far, frustrations have arisen, and it has made me question if BankFive is the right choice after all. I need more proactive and constructive support on their part to get these problems solved, other than ambiguous responses.

Problems with Mobile Deposits

I have been having quite a few problems with the BankFive mobile deposit feature. It is something that I use every now and then to deposit checks, but it does manage to refuse some checks without giving any apparent reason. The app hangs up more often than not, and I have been reinstating it more than once before it starts working again. Customer service tried to help, but they could not resolve these technical issues. This is a huge hassle, as I mostly use mobile banking because of my busy schedule. When the deposits do go through, they would take longer than what was predicted, and that upsets me too. I wish BankFive could improve their technology for more reliable deposits instead of this being such a hassle it isn't worth. Since they advertise online banking quite a lot, I would have assumed it would go well hand in hand with that.

Frustrating Account Restrictions

I have had to deal with surprise restrictions with BankFive. Recently, I tried to transfer an amount larger than usual. Much to my displeasure, I found that my account was locked without prior warning. After several phone calls to their customer service, they replied that it was a 'security measure,' but actually did little in assisting me with a quick solution. This inability to access really put me in an awfully tight corner, and it took days for the restrictions to get lifted. I do realize that security is important, but it shouldn't just cut off the customer from accessing his or her own money. A warning or faster support would have been highly appreciated. I felt this was an inflexible response, and it certainly left me with the frustrating thought that BankFive was not to be relied upon for immediate access to my money when needed.
