Not Worth the Premiums

Since nearly one year ago, I have had ASPCA Pet Insurance. However, I would say it really isn't worth the cost. Their monthly premiums are through the roof, and for how much it cost me for my dog's major surgery, it really did nothing to help assist. Polite customer service that seemed a useless attempt to clarify the minimal coverages on my plan. Claims are a hassle and the refund wasn't quite as I expected because they shouldn't have retained most of what I paid monthly for over a year, so well, there is frustration to say the least. May find better elsewhere.

Unexpected Policy Changes

The ASPCA recently changed a few policy specifics that I was not informed of, so it was quite a shock to find that my claim had been partly declined. Very courteous customer service, does little to help in other ways. High prices overall, and when they won't tell you how much in coverage you are paying for at times it is frustrating. They should do a little better communicating with customers.

Too Many Exclusions

I joined ASPCA Pet Insurance hoping for adequate coverage. But ASPCA fails at the basics: it doesn't clearly spell out what is excluded upfront. My cat required some treatment to resolve an illness, but ASPCA only partially reimbursed based on vague policy exclusions. The Customer Service Team was nice but of little help regarding what's actually covered. Even after making numerous calls, I still find that the coverage is not transparent and unpredictable. Premium costs add up fast, and I expected much better support. It's frustrating to pay every month and still have to cover so much of the bills. I will not recommend this insurance until they get better on transparency and clarity for their policyholders.

ASPCA Pet Insurance sounded really good at first, but then when I had to make multiple claims, I realized high premium doesn't necessarily mean that there is good coverage. Because of her illness, she had to visit multiple vets. ASPCA covered a tiny percentage of it, citing policy limitations as the reason for non-payment. Each time I had to follow up, and reimbursement was a long process. High deductible is a hurdle in making meaningful coverage on small claims. The customer service is very polite but not so effective and helpful in solving the issues or getting clarity of coverage. Wish they explain more transparently about the covered things and had guidelines for the submission of a claim. For the money that is being paid, I expected better coverage. Thus, am not very satisfied because feel as though the insurance has not covered what I need.

Cost is a concern, yet I was still anticipating improved service and coverage. Trustworthy Coverage

Long Wait Times

They have got the emergencies covered, although it takes them quite long to process claims. My claim with regard to my dog's surgery took almost a month. Really stressful, and they still reimbursed me. Nevertheless, it was a hassle. I would recommend changing their ways to speed up to make it a much better experience.
