The Angi platform is easy to use and looks professional, but my experience wasn?t great. I hired someone for a minor electrical fix, and while the initial communication was fine, the job was rushed. The contractor didn?t test the outlets after finishing and left without giving me an invoice. I had to call another electrician later to fix what was missed. The reviews looked solid, so I assumed I was in good hands. Maybe I just got unlucky, but it felt like there?s no real quality control. You?re kind of taking a gamble. It?s not a terrible service, but I expected better vetting and a smoother process.

It Actually Does What It Claims

Misleading Results
After reading glowing reviews, I thought this would be a simple fix. I bought three traps and installed them around the eaves. Two weeks in, I still had holes appearing and zero bees caught. At that point, I gave up. It?s a great concept, but if the professionals on the platform aren?t reliable, then it doesn?t matter how easy the app is to use. I scheduled a bathroom tile repair job through Angi and was matched with a contractor who had decent reviews. He arrived late and worked slower than expected. Worse, he left in the middle of the job and didn?t come back the next day like he said he would. I messaged him through the app?no response. I contacted Angi?s support and was told they?d ?look into it,? but nothing came of it. I ended up having to hire someone else to finish the job and spent twice the money. I thought Angi would help resolve issues or at least mediate, but they did nothing. I felt like once the booking was made, they were hands-off. It was a huge letdown. I would?ve been better off just asking around for recommendations. The whole point of a service like this is to avoid flaky contractors?and this was the opposite.

Not As Helpful As Expected
I tried Angi to get my garage door repaired and thought the platform would streamline everything. I listed my problem, but it took over 48 hours to get a single quote, and by then I?d already found someone locally. The contractor I did hear from through Angi was vague and couldn?t provide an accurate estimate. I found the site a bit clunky to navigate, and communication through the app was slow. I also received multiple spammy follow-up calls for other unrelated services, which was frustrating. I was hoping for a curated, professional experience, but it just felt disorganized. Maybe it works better in some areas, but for me, it was not worth the wait or the hassle. I really wanted to like the service, but it just didn?t deliver what was promised.

Looks Nice, But Minimal Results
I bought two traps and installed them on opposite ends of my shed. Visually, they blend well and seem durable. But they didn?t make much of a dent in the bee activity. I still see them boring holes and flying around. I?m also not sure the bait works well. I read some forums suggesting DIY attractants might help, but I was hoping the product would work as-is.

Works Even Better Than Expected
I read lots of reviews before buying and I?m glad I did. These traps really work. I placed one near the worst spot on my garage and bees were inside it in a day. I didn?t even need to use any attractant. It?s low maintenance and does exactly what I hoped for. I?ll be buying more soon.

Attracted Wasps, Not Bees
I was disappointed with the trap. It didn?t catch carpenter bees as advertised. Instead, I started noticing more wasps around the trap. That completely defeated the purpose. I also didn?t realize I needed to keep checking and cleaning the trap so often. The mounting was easy, but results were underwhelming. I feel like it?s a product that might work in specific conditions, but wasn?t suited to my yard setup. I wanted a simple, passive solution, but this added more hassle.

Vetted Pros? Not in My Case
I hired a painter listed on Angi who promised a two-day job. Instead, it turned into a week-long ordeal, with delays, missed appointments, and sloppy results. He painted over unprepped surfaces and left stains on my floors. When I contacted Angi to report the issue and seek help, they told me they?re not responsible and to deal with the contractor directly. That defeats the whole purpose of the platform. Their supposed "background checks" clearly missed some red flags. I wish I had trusted local referrals instead of relying on Angi. Now I have to pay someone else to fix the mess and start over. The support was unhelpful and seemed indifferent. It was an expensive lesson for me and I wouldn?t recommend them to anyone looking for professional accountability.

Didn?t Work for My Yard
I had high hopes based on all the positive reviews, but sadly, the traps didn?t do much in my case. I followed the instructions exactly, placed them where carpenter bees were active, but only caught a few. The buzzing didn?t stop and I still see them drilling holes. Maybe my infestation was too advanced, but this product just wasn?t effective for me. Also, I wish there were clearer details about placement in shaded areas or with overhead covers?those tips came too late. Customer service was kind but couldn?t offer much beyond what I already tried.

Disappointed With the Service

Nice Idea, Lacking Results
The idea behind these traps is great, but the actual performance fell short for me. I live in a wooded area and carpenter bees are aggressive here. Misleading and No Accountability
I used Angi to find someone to do a full bathroom remodel. The contractor they sent was not even licensed, which I only found out after issues began. The tile work was terrible, the plumbing leaked, and Angi wouldn?t step in to help resolve the issue. I tried reaching support several times, but each time they deflected responsibility, saying it was between me and the contractor. Isn?t the point of using a platform like this to avoid exactly this situation? It?s frustrating to feel so alone dealing with a big financial hit. I ended up paying a second professional to redo a lot of the work. I won?t be using Angi again, and I hope others are more cautious. Always ask for credentials and don?t assume a listing on Angi means they?re vetted properly.

Finally, a Natural Solution
We didn?t want to use pesticides, so the bee traps were a great find. They started working in just a few days. I hung them around our back deck and caught a good number of bees. It?s been nice to enjoy our backyard again without being worried about carpenter bees flying around or damaging our wood structures.
