This year my experience at 1040.com wasn't all that great at all. I had so many technical problems that really bogged me down a bit. First, the interface is generally intuitive, but I still encounter lag issues and periodic logouts that forced me to restart my entire filing process a number of times. Second, customer support was rather disappointing. When I encountered some problems with my e-file, I emailed them for help, but the general feedback I received was pretty generic and did nothing to even attempt to address my specific concerns. Last but not least, the software still had trouble processing state-specific deductions, requiring much manual adjustment on my part. That only increased the already abundant time but also frustration since I had to cross-check and verify again from other sources just to make sure they're correct. Generally speaking, though, the affordability of 1040.com is great. Technical glitches and poor customer support, however, made this tax season one long headache. Hopefully they fine-tune their platform and the customer service for better things next tax season.

My 1040.com experience this tax season was somewhat disappointing. At first, I had chosen to use 1040.com based on its affordable prices and claims for the ease in filing the process. However, that proved to be totally farfetched as the system remained so buggy that it proved impossible to continue at certain points. Something was amiss with the inputting of the data fields; it could not save the progress made, and in a few situations, I was poorly guided on my complex tax scenarios, transforming what would have otherwise been a straightforward process into a nightmare. The worst part was the poor customer support. Getting through calls and having them answered by somebody wasn't easy, but if I ever did get through to someone, they were very vague in guiding me, and it seemed like no help would come my way in time. There wasn't clear information on navigating into amendments and corrections of the filing. This wasn't just an inconvenience, though-a major problem since tax filings are sensitive and important. My final grievance is that despite their advertised rates, I ended up paying much more on account of hidden charges and fees for features that had to be added but not disclosed as necessary in advance. This experience left quite a sour taste, and the next go-round, I'd look towards other platforms that might be more reliable and avoid the stress and potential errors which could result from using 1040.com.
