My Go-To Meal Kit
Out of all the kits I?ve tried (and I?ve tried at least five), Gourmaze has the best balance of taste, variety, and convenience. The recipes are modern, fresh, and not overly fancy. Most are cooked in 30?40 minutes with very little prep. I?ve never had an issue with freshness, and even the herbs arrive in good shape. Once, I emailed support about skipping a week and they responded within an hour?super helpful. Some people might find it slightly pricey, but when you consider the time saved and the quality of food, it?s totally fair. I even recreated a few recipes on my own because they were so good. My absolute favorite is the Mediterranean lentil bowl?super filling and flavorful. It feels like they really care about the customer experience. Gourmaze has become a staple in my weekly routine, and I don?t see that changing anytime soon.

Worth Trying
At first, I was skeptical?there?s so many meal kits now, and most feel the same. But Gourmaze really impressed me. The ingredients taste fresher than others I?ve tried, and there?s less plastic in the packaging, which I appreciate. I liked that the menu wasn?t just burgers and pasta?they included dishes with real flavor, like za'atar chicken or lentil dal. A couple of the meals were a bit light on protein, which is why I didn?t give it 5 stars, but the rest of the experience made up for it. Also, their website is easy to use, and changing meals is super straightforward. It?s helped us cut back on ordering takeout, and cooking feels way less stressful. Not every recipe was perfect, but most were really good. Definitely worth trying if you want better dinners without extra effort.

Great Value for Busy People

Didn?t Live Up to the Hype
After reading reviews online, I had high hopes, but Gourmaze let me down fast. The first box looked fine, but the recipes were super bland?no seasoning packets included and no real direction on flavor. In week two, half the veggies came wilted, and one item was clearly past its date. Reached out to support, who said they?d issue a refund, but that never showed up. Also, the portions are super insonsistent?sometimes there's way too much rice and hardly any sauce. The instructions were confusing at times too?like one said ?bake for 12 mins? but never mentioned preheating the oven? These might seem like small things, but when they keep happening, it's just not worth it. Honestly, the whole thing felt thrown together. I'd rather just shop myself and follow recipes online. Not renewing my subscription.

Surprisingly Good

Great Overall Experience
We?ve tried a few different meal kits, and Gourmaze is one of our favorites so far. They offer creative recipes that don?t feel too fancy or overcomplicated. The boxes usually arrive on time and ingredients are cold and fresh. One thing I?ve noticed is they?re really good about allergens?we requested nut-free and so far no mistakes. The only downside is that a couple of the recipe steps can be vague if you?re not already comfortable in the kitchen. Support was responsive when we had a question about a missing side dish and credited us right away. I also appreciate the variety?they rotate new meals every week and we?ve discovered some fun new dishes we wouldn?t have tried otherwise. Not Worth the Effort
For something that?s supposed to make cooking easier, Gourmaze made my weeknights more complicated. The meals aren?t quick?the recipes take longer than estimated, and the steps are sometimes out of order or unclear. For example, one had you start cooking the rice before even chopping vegetables, which made everything rushed. On top of that, some ingredients were missing labels, and the chicken once came without the seal intact?not exactly what I want to see with raw meat. When I reached out to customer service, they responded but didn?t seem too concerned. Said they'd "look into it" but never followed up. The dishes themselves tasted alright, but honestly not better than what I can make with a quick online recipe. Too many little issues adding up. If you want convenience, this ain't it.

One box was missing an entire protein, and another had spilled sauce packets all over the box contents. I contacted them, and while they did respond, it took longer than expected and the replacement didn't arrive until the next week. Recipe steps are sometimes oddly written??sear until golden? without specifying the heat or time? That's not very helpful. Also, one week the meals were super salty, the next almost flavorless, so it's kind of a hit or miss. The packaging is generally good but sometimes the produce isn't properly sealed. It's not all bad, but these hiccups make it hard to trust as a consistent weekly option. I might try again later, but right now, it just doesn?t feel polished enough.

Poor Quality Control
My first order came late, which was annoying but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Second order? One of the sauce containers had exploded, soaking everything in the box. Third week, I was missing the protein entirely. That was the last straw. Customer support always replied, but the solutions felt generic??sorry for the inconvenience,? a partial refund here or there. But the problems kept happening. It?s like they don?t check the boxes before shipping them. Also, the recipes are written kinda sloppily. Typos like ?teasopon? instead of ?teaspoon? make me question how well these are reviewed. It?s not like the food is bad, but when you?re paying for convenience and it turns into a guessing game, what?s the point? I?ve used other meal kits that are miles ahead. Won?t be using Gourmaze again anytime soon.

Been using Gourmaze for about six weeks, and overall, it?s a solid experience. The recipes are creative without being complicated, and the flavors usually hit the mark. One of my favorites so far was the tofu coconut curry?really comforting and easy to prep. Not every meal is a 10/10 (the mushroom gnocchi was just okay), but most of them are tasty and satisfying. Delivery Was a Mess
I really wanted to like Gourmaze, but the delivery issues kept piling up. First box came a day late, second was missing ice packs so the meat was warm. I emailed support (twice!) and didn't get a real answer for over 3 days. They said it was a "rare issue," but it happened again. On top of that, one of the recipe cards had typos and missed an entire step?left me completely confused halfway. The food didn?t taste bad, but when you're paying this much, it needs to feel professional. Also, the packaging, while mostly eco?friendly, leaked on one occasion, leaving the bottom of the box soaked. The idea of the service is great, but honestly it ended up adding more stress than saving time. Gave it a fair try, but after 3 weeks I cancelled. Not what I expected.
